Character Classes: Stalkers (Family, Agilist Order)

Stalkers divide into three groups:   Looters are outlaws motivated by greed and/or rebellion. Thieves and Thief-Acrobats are described in Player’s Handbook and Unearthed Arcana, respectively. They may be any non-good alignment. Pirates combine the seafaring skills of a Mariner and the dexterity of a Thief-Acrobat and may be any Chaotic alignment, the defining characteristic of the class being a loathing for rules and distaste for order. Most Pirates are part of a crew of that includes Thieves or even slaver Merchants; however, there are Chaotic Good Pirates that liberate slave galleys and sink or capture the ships of evil lords. An individual Pirate will often find hirself on land in pursuit of treasure, adventure, or revenge.   Agents are generally hired for specific jobs and always start out affiliated with a guild or agency. Assassins are described in Player’s Handbook. Detectives are similar to Thieves but work on the side of law and order. Instead of a backstab bonus, the Detective has a “Knockout Blow” delivering 4x Stun damage on one frontal attack per day per level and any number of sneak attacks. At low levels, a Detective receives missions from an agency, which may be as small as the junior Detective and hir mentor or large enough to police an entire city. A mid-level Detective may work alone and wander freely. At higher levels, a Detective may start hir own agency. Like Thieves, Detectives may opt for an Acrobat specialisation at 6th level.   Affiliates, Ninja and Yakuza, also answer to organisations, but their membership is for life. Both are described in Oriental Adventures. In Hubworld, the Ninja clans primarily operate in the Empire of the Carp and the Ratlands. Yakuza influence extends throughout the northeast and parts of the northwest and southwest.
