Qualifications

All Shamans require a minimum of 12 Wisdom and 12 Charisma. Their backgrounds and the form their apprenticeship takes varies by type. Except for Dakini, who can master elemental forces on their own, Shamans get their powers through spirits of nature or else through extraplanar beings. This requires following an oath that varies by Shaman type.

Career Progression

Each Shaman class has its primary, secondary, and tertiary spell type that they gain through a combination of prayer and meditation as other Divines, but also through study as with Philosophers. The number of spells they may have ready at a time increases by level as follows:

Other Benefits

Shamans can brew potions as Alchemists. However, they cannot create potions of higher level or spell level than the highest they can cast (1-7), and they do not create Memory Liquid. Rather, they directly brew a potion that imitates the effects of a known spell. The spell is limited to the school in which they receive their casting bonus: an Oracle can brew Divination potions, a Mudang brews Abjuration potions, Jakhri can brew any Wu Jen spell, Houngans brew Illusion potions, Witch Doctors brew Enchantments, an Angakkuq can brew Alteration potions, a Medicine Man brews Necromantic potions. The exceptions to this are the Nagual, Witch, and Warlock, who may brew potions corresponding to any spell they know.
