Career Progression

Cavaliers: The progression of Cavaliers remains unchanged from Unearthed Arcana except in the following regards: the apprenticeships described in UA are replaced by those listed above; Elfin Cavaliers are treated as a subclass; the ability to ride exotic mounts in general is achieved at 7th level instead of just winged horses. However, a proficiency slot is required for each new mount type.
  Mounted Archers: The Hit Point and XP progression of Mounted Archers is the same as Cavaliers, as is the ability to raise stats. Unlike Cavaliers, Mounted Archers do not require mentorship in order to level-up. The bonuses of Mounted Archers progress as follows:
Level Perk
1 +1 hit with ranged weapon of preference
2 +1 dam with ranged weapon of preference
3 +1 hit with melee weapon of preference; vault into saddle with heavy armour and be underway in 1 seg
4 +2 hit with ranged weapon of preference
5 +2 dam with ranged weapon of choice; +2" steed speed up to 6 turns
6 +2 hit with melee weapon of preference
7 +3 hit with ranged weapon of choice; may use exotic steeds
8 +3 dam with ranged weapon of choice
9 +3 hit with melee weapon of choice
10 +3 hit with ranged weapon of choice
11 +3 dam with ranged weapon of choice, etc.
12 +3 hit with melee weapon of choice


Mounted Constables: The Hit Point and XP progression of Mounted Constables is the same as Cavaliers, as is the ability to raise stats. In order to level-up, MC's must be promoted by a superior. Riding ability progression is the same as for Cavaliers. Other perks are as follows:

3 +1 hit with firearms; Investigate as 1st-level Detective
4 +2 hit with bludgeons; Track as 2nd-level Ranger; +2" steed speed up to 6 turns

6 +2 hit with firearms; Track as 3rd-level Ranger, Investigate as 2nd-level Detective
7 +3 hit with bludgeons
8 +3 hit with martial arts; Track as 4th-level Ranger; +4" steed speed up to 6 turns
9 +3 hit with firearms; Investigate as 3rd-level Detective
10 +4 hit with bludgeons; Track as 5th-level Ranger
11 +4 hit with martial arts
12 +4 hit with firearms, etc.; Track as 6th-level Ranger, etc.; Investigate as 4th-level Detective, etc.; +6" steed speed up to 6 turns (max bonus)
