    Personal history

Akhana admits she was not attractive as a teenager, did not stand out in a crowd, and did not care one way or another about life, her future, or her studies when she was in grade school. She grew up in Yoke around tools and metallurgy curiosity with a flair for learning secrets and sneaking about. Her colorlessness, she now realizes, made her the ideal candidate as an informer for the Lockstitch Academy when she was just 17. That and her willingness to fit in and do as she was told.   “It was out of the blue,” she recalls, still slightly nervous, decades later.   “I was asked to come to the headmaster’s office. There I met a man who was in his mid-20s. All I knew about him was he was from the ruling class of Yoke. I was surprised. I did not guess then what he wanted. He asked me if I was prepared to help Yoke, and because I was impatient to start a new adventure, I agreed”.   Three months after this first meeting with her handler, Akhana became one of Yokes’ 200 informers and child spies who were under the age of 18.   Akhana is politically astute and sensitive to the fluctuations of power through information. Spies have been around since power has been around, but what we think of as modern spy craft—codes, enigma machines, undercover operations, sleeper agents—was still in its infancy in this post-academy period. There was a strong feeling in some parts of Yokan society that a revolution force would have animosity against the ruling class if they had not been betrayed—by traitors, by refugees, by so-called degenerates. In 1921, the Yokan revolution movement was just beginning. Calling themselves the Free Corps this fluid group of people gathered all the disaffected, angry, disappointed Yokans—mostly former miners—and gave them purpose through a shared hatred.   This revolution movement was a direct response to poor working conditions, substandard living conditions, and general grief with distrust for the ruling class. These ideas also informed other cultural changes, the most interesting of which, for me, is the changing place of women in Liminal society.

    Gender Identity

    Watch-to-Watch Navigator

    Intellectual Characteristics

Akhana thinks on her feet, has acute analysis ability, likes to be challenged to solve puzzles or sticky situations.

    Morality & Philosophy

Religion of Metallurgy Besides the celestial sacredness of the sky, immanent in meteorites, there was now the telluric sacredness of the earth, in which mines and ore share. Metals grow in the bosom of the earth. Caves and mines are assimilated to the womb of Mother [planet name that Liminal exists].   The ores extracted from mines are in some sense embryos. They grow slowly, as if obeying a temporal rhythm different from that of vegetable and animal organisms; nevertheless, they do grow, they ripen in the telluric darkness. Hence, their extraction from Mother Earth is an operation performed prematurely. If they had been given the time to develop (that is, if they were to come to term in geological time), ores would become ripe, or perfect metals. Belief in the natural growth, and thus in the metamorphosis, of metals is of very ancient origin in Liminal.   Yokans in the Metallurgy religion have a strong sense of self and the believe that our lands will provide for our needs.

    Personality Characteristics

    Likes & Dislikes

Likes: tinkering, metal work, solving puzzles   Dislikes: public speaking, being the center of attention or in the spotlight, inefficiency

    Vices & Personality flaws

    S3 E22: Six Shooter

After Action Report for Peanut   Officer Akhana led a team, designated as spy detail, with crew members: Officer Patagon, Kat, and Howl. We conducted an investigation of Gibbet via parachute drop-in to gather information about daily life of its people, city imports, power source(s) of the city, and identifing the Modern Major General.   The goal of this mission was to find out the following unknown info: - What does Gibbet import?
  • What do they use to power the city?
  • What do Gibbet people do in their daily life/do for fun?
  • We were given a crate of supplies including 3 communication bugs to plant in strategic areas that will continue to transmit information back to Peanut/Silver Thimble Comms team for a week out.   Two stipulations: (1) no dead bodies left behind, and (2) have plausible deniability if found out.   Successes: Through our investigative work, we identified and had contact with the Modern (current) Major General and gained access to his secret laboratory in the Research and Development sector of the city. Kat will deliver dossiers they gathered from his office that contain copious notes on Wanderpus crew members, Silver Thimble specifics, and how to leverage our knowledge, technology, and possibly used as a magic source or mana battery trader.   The city, and its people, run on mana batteries. They use one main sources to gather the magic power to manufacture these mana batteries - magic found in the forest west of Dyad, Arbona's Wealds. They are exploring two experimental sources for mana battery components: killing live animals and grinding them into magic components and the rose bushes growing wildly around and through the forest.   Daily life occurs for Gibbet people without sleep, food, drink, or currency. Gibbet people use mana batteries as their life source. Gibbet people wear respirators and do not 'breathe' air. They are dog-type people and lack basic human internal organs. Their clothing and garments appear to be grafted or somehow attached directly to their skin.   They love loud, heavy metal music, and are very social. They ride trains, go to bars, sing karaoke, and live communally. There are no restaurants, street food vendors, or shops, in the sense we know them to exist. They do use vending machines to charge or replace their mana batteries. We even witnessed an establishment that added different 'colors' to mana batteries to provide the user with different simulated experiences.   One communicator bug was placed in the Modern Major General's office and seemed to be transmitting before leaving the site. The Modern Major General wielded a syringe-type sword that we availed him of and are currently doing our own research and development on it's capabilities and ammo cartridges. Will report on this as more information becomes available.   Failures: We lost one communicator bug to electrical shock and we were not able to place the third bug in a place to gather intel. We learned through some interactions during a blackout that most, if not all, Gibbet people have radar-type visors that can see magic visibly. One of our team's magic aura from their weapon was detected but we evaded capture or further detection.   Extraneous Intel: Modern Major General had letters between Gibbet and Bobbert to trade and sell mana batteries. MMG noted that Bobbert is untrustworthy and wasn't inclined to continue a line of business with him.   We found out at the community center that the Gibbet people are aware of the Silver Thimble, that we have and play Webball, and some are interested in visiting the Silver Thimble.   Gibbet people are named for minerals, elements, and scientific genius and species of animals.   In their R & D facility, we observed devices and tech they were working on: shotgun with larger ammo cartridges but hair-triggers; file cabinets with dossiers on Wanderpus (acquired) and other cultures of this world; large-capacity generators that tend to arc when disturbed. In the MMG's secret lab area, we observed vials of mana in three colors: purple, orange and teal.   There was a kerfuffle with the MMG and this spy team where he injured two of us but we managed to leave him in a paralyzed state. Noting for the record that we had found a mechanism to detach his secret lab (built on a boat's hull) form the R&D facility, and left him unconscious and afloat in this lab. We left going unnoticed by any other personnel and were fully disguised while interacting with MMG, so as not to leave any trace of Wanderpus crew or Silver Thimble presence at, on or near Gibbet.   -Officer Akhana, out

HTML Wanderpus: Mission to Save Peanut!

The Away Team for today' s mission, Carica, Qui, Rha, Lina set off in a mini-sub and meet up with Peanut in Yoke. The approach a bone bridge with Peanut's intent to bust down the stone door but the Away team has other thoughts.   BOOM, bridge breaks and is now on fire and currently blocking the team's path across a moat-like river, chock-full of reeds. They swim across and make it to the other side when 3 antelope minotaurs with rifles pointed at the team and told them "you are weird looking guards". Qui pipes up, "we are travelling merchants and need to get a cross when the bridge exploded". The guards see Peanut and ask the team to go with them because they have guns.   Lina wishes to bribe the guards to convince them not to make them come along. Qui casts "over there" and told the guards 'friend over there says you are stupid" to redirect his anger and turn him against his friend. This endeavor succeeds!! The guards are now in-fighting and are mostly distracted. Carica uses 'Cloud Call' and fogs the area to help make their escape but fails miserably. Carica falls over, nose bleeding and utterly spirit-fallen.   Rha is ready to throw down and tells the guards, "MOVE", and uses Yelp with a HUGE failure. Peanuts arms go up and the team is escorted into the mausoleum. Before they get far, Sakura uses Persona and takes the image of an officer and orders the guards to scram. They just noticed this group of guards have nice uniforms and very nice rifles, which is odd and unlike the weaponry we are familiar with.   Lina orders the guards to take them to their commanding officer and they are lead to a room in the mausoleum and the first thing they see is a pile of skulls. there are a few rooms but the guard is blocking an inner stairway. Sakura demands some answers. Peanut is looking for someone specific (Rawley, I think) and Carica wants to ask questions. They notice two guys in costume, one carrying a lute and one has 2 arms but in a costume with 2 additional arms. Qui believes they are fakers and Carica thinks they may think they are actors. Peanut's taking notes dutifully but staring in awe at Lina. They also notice masks strewn on the tables, more than the number of people in the rooms and doesn't look like they would fit the people here. Rha inspects the cannons in the room. Lina inspects the skulls and there is a loud crack and one of the guards people in the room questions her. We find out the skulls are their ancestors of people living here. Wooahh, creepy!   The Away team realizes that these people are not from the Liminal plane. Qui asks about a book to the being in the room and it's revealed that he's a goat man and on stilts. He mentions "The Lady" and Qui presses on but the goat guy doesn't want to open it. Another masked person talks to Lina and mentions that the cat mask on the table is Lolli's and tells the team Lolli is out with "The Lady". Peanut is now at full attention. Qui asks where and he points a thumb outside towards the sounds of fighting. Lina is making a quick sketch of the scene in the rooms they've seen.   Guy wearing a onsie kinda reveals that he is a deamon under his get up and changes his costume. The away team gets a little anxious. Carica wants to make a costume. In another room, Rha and Carica notices a table full of magical items. "You guys must have been away because, splinter cells, amirite? This woman comes in wearing ridiculous iron gear and this woman said we can get you some weapons and other magical items. All they have to do is make a promise and there is a huge rock, on Pastora, with a river under it and it was a huge stash of magical items. The Lady was fine with the promise". Rha starts checking out the weapons and the guy wearing purple fur stops him because they don't know what the weapons do or are capable of. Meanwhile, Peanut goes through the map on the table and the notes and he slips the book off the table and takes it out of the room. Qui chases after Peanut.   Carica tells Rha it's not a good idea and now he faces a tough choice - touch the weapons and face a standoff or walk away. The mood has the potential to get tense. Also, Lina picks through the masks and costumes. Rha says he's going to look while putting his hand on the hilt of a weapon. Qui uses Chaos Ball and it bounces off of everything and breaks things in it's path and Rha snatches the great sword. Peanut runs out, Qui runs out. The chaos ball does its thing and breaks through skulls, cannons, tables, Carica tries rolls up the skins and takes the magical items and the other half of the building explodes into magical explosions. In the chaos the weapons break, except for the great sword Rha grabbed. Carica uses body switch heal and ends up in Rha's body, Rha ends up in owl dude paper machie's body, and owl dude is now in Carica's boneless body. And hijinx ensues!! Carica/Rha has the sword! The weapons disappeared with the eggplants and one of the masked dudes...... dun dun dunnnn Carica is not used to having a body, eyes, and structure. The chaos ball keeps bouncing and breaking stuff. Carica drops the great sword >< Lina picked the sword up and dragged it out of the mausoleum.   Qui and Peanut head to the river, holds the book, and Peanut empties excellent spy equipment from his backpack. Soldiers and revolutionaries are fighting outside of The Yoke and bedlam and unrest are rampant on the other side of the river and it began to rain water balloon size drops.   Rha tries to figure out how to use Carica's abilities and ditches the costume from the owl dude, but a standing horse man and cannot do magic. Carica wants to reach in her shell to get the starcaller to contact Comms on the Wanderpus. Rha takes his starcaller out to call to Comms on the Wanderpus to have them come pick up Carica's body. Rha and Carica go into a medidative transe trying to figure out how to move in their bodies or use abilities. Lina ducks into a building to escape the rain. The sun comes up and Peanut and Qui kept trying to break into the book. Qui tries to convince Peanut to stop and hen find the others.   Lina goes into the city to look around and comes to a wall. The street is flooding already and the whole area is nearly submerged. Lina sees too people with magical outlines, arms in the air, chanting and what seems to be naturalists magic. She's suspicious and wants to whack one with her sword. Lina approaches a 6ft tall, hooded, frog face, and a feather boa. She is chanting something and summoning the rain. And now we realize it's Lolli, King Reedy's daughter, and Lina attacked her with the sword and beheaded her. WHAAAA NOOOOOOO! The sword is apparently cursed with magic and does bad things.   Lina wants to float the idea that the revolutionaries did it and really had no idea who she killed. So, now we have a huge issue. The Away Team brainstorms how to get around this....   Since the caster has been taken down, the rain stops and the team is standing in some water. Peanut has slipped away from Qui. Carica feels an echo of magic and everyone feels pulled towards the stone wall where Lina was. The area is still mostly submerged and the team has gotten back to their original bodies.   A Sith-like mage with lightning, Lady of Bones, coming from her and charging at Lina, covered with smeared blood on her. Carica uses Steal Sprout and opens an area in the door to release the water from the submerged area but fails and floods the surrounding area. This causes a new river to pour out and catches Lady of Bones and rushes past the team, Peanut jumps and lands on the Lady of Bones chest and rides her down the river - 0.O - as the team jumped out of the way.   They now find themselves in a town of minotaur that are coming out of their houses as the river runs through. Rha decides to grab everyone and rides the river. Carica gives everyone gills to breath as the whoosh away and stealthed successfully. However, they got washed all the way back to a island on the edge of Yoke. Peace talks where happening and now breaking up as they sail back towards the main area of Yoke. The team saved the upper crust citizens, flooded the poor citizen's town area, and got rid of the weapons. The Away Team managed to get close to the sub, changed back into their uniforms, and the Admiral approaches them (who knows nothing of this mission). Peanut is no where to be found.   What a wild ride!! Join us next time for more.... chaos??

HTML Wanderpus: Third Away Game - Welcome to the Jungle!

The away team heads off and the crew is on the ship. A giant bird swooped down and picked up the ship, same it would pick up a tasty snack. We were all rattled sufficiently and I ducked for cover under my bunk. All I could think was, what in the hell is happening?   KERPLUNKKKD - the bird dropped the ship, upside down mind you, on the side of a mountain. The crew is left to figure out how to right it and the away team heads out to investigate possible rift activity.   The away team made their way to a man-made cobblestone walkway circling a tree that seemed out of place and definitely mysterious after the ship received word that there are rifts active on this plane. Going down the circle path underground, they come across an open room with boxes and a seemingly peaceful well in the back end of this open, paved, underground area. Boxes are broken and so are some instruments. Then, a swarm of centipedes attacks Zacna (I think) and he wipes them out easily.   Meanwhile, Tilorn finds a map that he notices music notes and scales pinpointing swirl areas on the Liminal map. Using his body tattoo maps and color-shaded goggles, marks these locations on his tattoos. The map crumbles instantly.   Ottertime and Toast, standing near the mysterious well when SHOOMP - four or five tentacles pop out of the water and grab Toast and Otter pulling them underwater. A giant cephalopod with divine yellow head and red, green and blue tentacles keeps him grappled. Toast notices they are in a freezing cold but flowing underground river. Death Hand frees them and they manage to defeat the tentacle monster and surface again to tell the rest of the away team about the river. Odd though, Tilorn tells them the rift notifying beetle is not detecting rift activity.   Back at the ship, which is now upside down on a rocky mountainside and grappled by a very large bird, the crew talk it over to decide how to discourage the bird from picking the ship up again. After getting my wits about me, I dodge out from under my bunk and think that I can perhaps go off the sub and land a sneak attack on the bird. I squirm out of a porthole but then.. a beetle approaches the ship. I ready Death Hand and, while cloaked, take out the beetle with one strong shot from my hand cannon. I scramble back through the porthole and hop back onto the ship. I was just in time to get transmissions from the away team. They ask the crew to initiate sonar and attempt to help them locate the north and south end of the underground river. I run to Navigation and track sonar signals on one of the maps and hand it off to Comms to send the information back to the away team. This is literally an all-hands-on-deck affair!   The away team bamf back to the ship and we get each group up to speed. A fog is created by the Captain and we are now obscured to the bird. Gunshots are heard out around the ship... who the hell is firing at us?   OWL MAFIA, The Parliament, SHOWS UP!! Some of us think they ordered the bird to mess with us. The Captain and Carica use RiverFury and get the underwater river to surface     [notes being scribed - will share more soon]
