Personal history
Safiq Alsamak was born in Cappadocia, he later began a career as a mercenary which lead him to migrate to the Kingdom of Spáwnn. Here he expanded into privateering eventually earning his own ship the Corrida de Gamos. As a sell sword Safiq adopted the name 'João', and was later referred to as 'João della Gama' after his ship. Liking the name Safiq adopted the pseudonym 'João de Gama'. Sometimes referred to behind his back as 'João "gordo" de Gama' (Fat John).
