1) The Adventure Begins

General Summary

New Beginnings

Our story began with Sabo, a Tobaxi rogue arriving in the port of Neverwinter aboard his uncle's boat the Rusty Tankard. Along with twenty other tobaxi refugees fleeing from Port Nyanzaru.   While Sabo made his way down the gang plank he noticed a Rock Gnome druid playing in the surf and began to approach him and engage him in conversation. This gnome was Mebarak and he was high as a kite on magic mushrooms, Sabo asked him if their was an Inn or Tavern nearby but Mebarak was way too high to understand.   Moments later a shifty looking Half-Elf bumped into Sabo, this was Echo a ranger and conartist. She brought Sabo and Mebarak to the Malt House Tavern.   Meanwhile, over at the guard barracks a Badgerkin named Drick lingered in a goal cell, attempting to ignore and drown out the unwanted conversation a Lightfoot Halfling named Glandula was attempting to start. Glandula told Drick her life's story, so as the guards approached to interrogate Drick she was pleased to get out of the goal.   The interrogator upon comparing Drick's likeness to the Wanted Poster realised that they had in fact caught the wrong Badgerkin and she was released. Unbeknownst to the guards, they are in fact looking for Drick's cousin Chunt.   Our party then met each other in the Malt House Tavern, where they drank together before meeting a Mountain Dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker, who hired the players to escort a wagon to Phandalin. Gundren had gone ahead with his Human sellsword companion Sildar Hallwinter, to attend to business in the town while the characters follow with the supplies. The characters will be paid by the owner of Barthen's Provisions in Phandalin when they deliver the wagon safely to that trading post.   While staying at the Malt House Tavern, Echo sought out the services of a courtesan. She met a young Tiefling woman named Cherish spent the night with her, only to realise the following morning that she had skipped out with some of her cash.

Goblin Arrows

The following day, the party set off towards Phandalin with the wagon of supplys and two Oxen which they named Momza and Jack. But whilst they were beginning to approach the village, they rounded a bend to find the road blocked. Drick moved forward to inspect the obstruction and discovered that it was in fact Gundren Rockseeker's dead horse. Upon further inspection Drick noticed black fletchings on the arrows protruding from the dead horse, she recognised these! Goblins!   At that moment two Cragmaw Goblins dashed forth from the treeline triggering the ambush. Closely followed by two other Cragmaw Goblins revealing themselves on the opposite side of the road and began to loose arrows towards the party. Drick nailed the first goblin by a well placed through of her axe. Sabo and Echo moved in and dealt with both of the goblin archers, as Mebarak moved in to assist Drick. Two more Cragmaw Goblins dashed from a clump of bushes. Drick then knocked the first unconscious with her axe, at which point Mebarak stepped forward and burned him alive. Causing the finel goblin (Froorak) to run away in terror at the sight of the murder of his younger brother (Vookeh).

Making Enemy's

Continuing on our party arrives safely at the village of Phandalin at which time they make their way to Barthen's Provisions receive their 10gp payment. Noticing that Elmar Barthen is visually impaired Drick slight-of-hands his glasses allowing Sabo to steal a tent. Drick then returns his glasses and purchases a hunting bow and a felling axe.   The party then makes their way to the Stonehill Inn for a drink and then they break up for the night. Drick getting involved in a debaucherous orgy and then burrowing under the Barthen's Provisions barn to sleep. Mebarak wanders off to the woods to sleep under the trees, followed by Sabo who pitches his tent and sleeps in it. Echo however has different plans. She scaled the Barthen's Provisions barn and entered through an open hay loft. While inside she saddles a pony opened the barn and rides out at full gallop through the town in full view of the villagers making their way home from the Stonehill Inn.
