Demesis is very skilled in arcane magic, specifically enchantments. He's attempting to be better with alchemy, but being self-taught he often messes up and will also sometimes forget what certain potions do entirely.
Apparel & Accessories
Demesis has many different outfits that he switches between constantly, to the point where he can be seen in three different outfits in a single day. Most of these outfits show a lot of skin, though he will cover up more when it's cold or he deems it necessary. He makes his own outfits so they're all custom-fitted to him. He wears multitudes of different golden jewelry, rarely any other type of metal. Demesis carries a leather suitcase trunk with him wherever he goes, which he's enchanted to hold a near-infinite amount of items. He often says he couldn't live without it.
Specialized Equipment
Demesis has many enchanted items, clothing, and jewelry that he keeps on or near him at all times. They do useful things like deflecting projectiles or entirely pointless things like making a bell sound when you touch it. He also has his alchemy kit, which he keeps in his storage trunk that he carries with him. He is skilled at using it in theory, but in practice he almost never makes a potion how he wanted to.
Demesis is very skilled with jewelry-making and tailoring, to the point he makes most of his own clothes and accessories. He also enjoys playing the flute, and can play simple things on a violin.

Personal history
Demesis was born in Alma Shaharee to a wealthy noble family. From childhood his parents had high expectations of him, as he showed a talent for arcane magic and specifically enchantments. He was given the highest education available and had private tutors working with him around the clock. He was taught everything from magical applications to etiquette to how to manage his family's estate. Demesis found himself taken by clothing at a young age, and learned to sew as his chosen hobby.
At the age of 16, his parents began pressing for him to learn more about alchemy, and he complied despite being content in his enchantment training. While attempting a difficult potion late one night, something went wrong and the left side of his face was struck with stray magic, leaving a forked scar. He was entirely blind in his left eye for several days, and when he healed entirely, his eye was purple and had a red pupil. His mother was especially distraught over this, as she considered it as ruining his face and was also a permanent mark of his failure as an alchemist. She locked him away in their home, humiliated by him.
Demesis continued training with alchemy despite his mother's forbidding of it, and found nothing odd about his eye at first. However, as he watched people from his room window, he would occasionally notice some of them with bright red glowing eyes that he could spot from far off. This often unnerved him and tried to tell his mother but it only caused her to think he was becoming delusional due to the injury, and she began cutting off his tutors from him as well. Soon after this he packed up his things and snuck out of the house with the help of a worker who had sympathy for him. He ran from Alma Shaharee with a merchant caravan, and when his mother found out she hired several people to find him and bring him back safely. The merchant caravan was headed outside of A'ramel Alshiu entirely, and Demesis gladly rode along with him and earned his keep by selling enchanted trinkets he had brought with him, as well as enchanting clothing he made himself. He began to learn openly about his alchemy, but there was no one on the caravan who could help him learn so he was largely self-taught.
The caravan ended up coming across someone who had the glowing red eyes Demesis had been noticing since the accident, and he warned against letting the man ride with them. He was ignored, however, and that night the caravan was slaughtered by the demon. Demesis made it out alive, as he had been awake and studying when the attack had begun. He continued to cross A'ramel Alshiu alone, and nearly died of dehydration before making it to the next town. He stayed in this town for another year selling his enchantments and attempting to teach himself more alchemy, but moved on once he noticed someone else with red eyes enter the town.
Demesis began travelling regularly to avoid demons, selling his wares and using the money to gain passage and food and enough supplies to create more clothing and enchanted trinkets. He ends up accidentally stowing away on an airship when he cannot pay in an attempt to escape yet another demon and has to beg for his life.

Demesis has a very thorough, high-quality education that included studying everything from history, etiquette, magic, enchantments, some alchemy, and many other subjects. Though he technically did not complete his studies, his training and knowledge were advanced enough for him to seek out other learning material on his own, and he continues to study by himself to this day.
Mental Trauma
Demesis was made to believe that he was losing his mind for a good year of his life by his mother, which makes him doubt himself more often than he lets on, leading to hesitation and indecision. He experiences slight paranoia when it comes to demons being around, and he's always on the move to avoid them. He suffers from insomnia because of trauma from the caravan he was travelling with being killed by a demon right before his eyes; he fears falling asleep in case another demon appears. Because of his family and those around him pounding the idea that he had to be perfect into his head, he is a perfectionist and tends to exhaust himself attempting to be perfect and is quite harsh on himself when he is not.

Demesis believes that everyone should do what they're able to keep others safe. He also believes that everyone can be useful in some way, and that everyone deserves to feel confident in themselves. Though he wishes to help others, he doesn't consider himself able to fight and will usually stay away from them if he can. He believes if he works hard enough he will be able to do something useful.

Demesis works hard and quickly and will often not give up until he's completed his task. He's good at delegating people to roles even if they have no obviously useful skills. Despite his desired lifestyle, he's very giving, especially when it comes to clothing. He's very friendly and encouraging to others.

Demesis is often far too hard on himself, and a perfectionist to a fault. He overworks himself most of the time and believes that he must be perfect or he is not worth anything. He doubts himself often, but will get defensive if others doubt him. He can be quite over dramatic at times, even if he doesn't really mean to be. Sometimes he is insensitive to others' comfort, telling them to work through it.

Demesis' mother and him often butted heads, as she expected far too much from him and he wanted to do more than merely run the estate. She emotionally abused him, keeping pressure on him to be perfect at all times and locking him away and neglecting him when he made a mistake. He despises his mother quite strongly, as well as his father but less so. His father would often merely parrott his wife's wishes and not comfort or come to Demesis' aid at any point, so Demesis has never seen him as anything more than an extension of his mother's will.

Demesis is a travelling merchant, and earns much money from selling his wares. However, he tends to use it quickly, or give it away to others in need of it, so he often doesn't have much on him.
