The Arm of the Empire

The Arm of the Empire is one of two branches of the Negresti armed forces. The Arm acts as a civilian police force and National Guard: defending Negresti citizens at home and enforcing the rule of law. Each province has a subdivision of the Arm that has jurisdiction in that area. The Capitol is served by the Gilded Arm, The Western Wilds by the Wooden Arm, Lodestone by the Iron Arm, etc.
All divisions of the Arm are led by a 'Heart' that directs the activities of their officers below them. The entirety of the Arm is led by a high officer who is referred to also as 'The Arm' such that he/she carries the responsibility for all the forces under him/her. The Arm is a close advisor to the Empress and is appointed by the current Empress from the current Hearts when a new Arm is needed.

Public Agenda

The Arm of the Empire is invested with authority directly from the Empress and is tasked with keeping the peace so that the Empire can do the work of expanding civilization. New recruits are taught that trust in the chain of command and loyalty are the best tools for defending citizens of the Empire from the unsavory elements of the world.
