Halflings

Halflings have always been known for their agricultural talents. A mostly simple folk, they keep largely to this role but are shrewd negotiators when it comes to their goods. Many Halfling villages were eager to join the Negresti during the first phase of Negresti expansion as in exchange for providing the agricultural base for the budding empire, the powerful Negresti sorcerers protected the mostly peaceful Halfling villages from the aggression of other budding civilizations and the dangers that lurk in the wilds. Most Halflings see this as one of the best bargains that they ever made and don't mind the mostly rural life that they still maintain. Some, however, see their people as being marginalized and subjugated while others gain wealth and power and have begun to foment whispers of unrest across the Empire. Able merchants and farmers, many Halflings have gone west through Ashcut pass to sow new fields and till the untamed lands of The Western Wilds.
