Blodnut
When the hard red "nuts" are chewed, they stain the spittle and teeth of the chewer blood-red, and the stimulating drug is absorbed through the gums. While the effects last, the user feels exhilarated, alert, and euphoric, though they may also be irritable and experience violent urges and rapid mood swings. As a result, the blodnut has been banned in some parts of the island, but a chilled, creamy pink dessert is prepared and served as a tourist attraction that contains only enough of the stimulant for a mild buzz, like a cup of coffee.
