Birthright

The Birthright Necklaces, or simply Birthrights, are a set of five magically enchanted necklances carved from meteorite. They are passed down through the royal family of each of the Five Kingdoms and serve as a way to verify the legitimacy of the bearer as the rightful ruler or heir to the throne.

A powerful enchantment weaves through these magical meteorite fragments. Each Birthright is designed to react only to the touch of the current legitimate ruler or rightful heir to one of the Five Kingdoms.

History

The five Birthrights were carved by the Dwarves from the same Fallen Stone, a meteorite with a powerful magical resonance that landed on the surface long before the Recorded Era, in the early days of the Five Kingdoms. They were each enchanted by the Oni with powerful magic and blessed with offerings to the Archivist so that each Birthright would react only to the touch of either the current legitimate ruler or the rightful heir to one of the Five Kingdoms.

Significance

The five Birthrights each bear the name of the current legitimate ruler of one of the original Five Kingdoms. They are worn by the heir to the throne of each of these families and serve as proof of the legitimacy of their claim to the throne, should anything happen to the current ruler.
