Spiritual Corruption
Spiritual Corruption or Falldown as some researchers would call it, is a phenomenon where ones soul that initially might have been in the positive (control or orderly) or neutral strays to the negative spectrum where their mind and very soul warps towards habits that are generally chaotic in nature or correspond with negative emotions.
Causes
According to researchers at the institute who studied the subject, they believe that the phenomenon occurs when the subject itself encounters immense psychological trauma and abuse to the soul directly. The corruption best occurs when the soul has no body to be tethered to as the cases where still living creature actually corrupt is under 2%, or at least those we are aware of.
Treatment
As fare as researchers know there is no cure, once your soul fully corrupts there's no going back. Though potentially if signs of corruption can be spotted before complete conversion then the infected might be able to get themselves the right emotional and psychological help to stop it from spreading. Though we do not know if this has ever been successful ever.
Prognosis
Once the soul complete converts to the negative spectrum or corrupts, the afflicted soul if mortal switches over and becomes a member Daemon race. Aetheral races though when afflicted with this phenomenon they appear to a more darker variant version of themselves as they rarely refer to themselves as members of the Daemon race.
