Eshome

Where the Mining never stops

Eshome is a mining city built on top of Mount Ualach, the city is known as a city of miners, and for its mining operations at the caves of Mount Ualach. Eshome is the biggest mining city in Highrune. Mining mostly iron but also silver, Copper and lead. The growing use of weapons, armour, stirrups, and horseshoes greatly increased the demand for iron made this city the richest one in Highrune, more than @Tonash or Candlelight City. The fact its owned by the Silverstone Clan has given the Silverstones a lot of clout in console of the twelve clans and the dwarven ruler.

The Cradles

The city is built so high that most travellers don't come in by foot but by elevators, huge metal boxes called "The Cradles". The city has three major Elevators for merchants and travellers, going to the central city plaza. So the plaza and the hillside of Eshome, what is known as "The village", is always crowded. Majisters decide who should go up or down a cradle, so getting on their good side is in the interest of all who work in Eshome.   The miners have sixty-six elevators, spread around the city and into different mining Shafts, they are called the "Sixty-Six". Most of the miners are Goliaths who, although are free now, and get "fair pay" still don't have any other job to do. Other Miners might be dwarfs or any mortal belonging to the Guild of Miners. They might be Mining Entrepreneurs or Mining Officers.

Demographics

Most of the city is populated by Miner's households. Some Entrepreneurs and Royals live in the city, most of them have sunk coin into the mining business and want to see that their investment is doing well.

History

This city is a mining city, and once all the miners were slaves. But because of the harsh working conditions and an accident in the mines, Eshome was home base for the goliath rebellion One of the tactics to win the rebellion was to not let the king get any support from nearby Cities. Enmarrkarr then, came himself to this Eshome to deal with the goliath's rebellion leaders, and here is where he abolished slavery. As part of the abolishment of slavery act, Goliaths gained the ability to rank up in the mining business or leave it, but most didn't, most stayed as they had no other home.
