Rites of Resurrection

The Rites of Resurrection purport to restore a dead person to life. They are illegal in nearly all nations in the world, along with other dweomers considered to be necromantic in nature. Proponents of these Rites claim that it is a healing process, not a necromantic one, but few countries accept this interpretation. The Church of Albion contends that even if this is a healing ritual, drawing the individual's soul back from their reward or punishment is a blatant contravention of God's will. And it is noteworthy that stories of those who have been resurrected depict people deeply changed by their deaths, despite claiming no memory of the period during which they were deceased. Some become despondent, while others throw themselves into life with reckless abandon. Darker rumors speak of people becoming violent or deranged after resurrection. Famously, it was after such a resurrection that the Little Dragon founded the Cult of the Leviathan.
