Mineralis

This species of elemental beings are constructed from a marble like rock and gemstones. They have remarkable sentience and have progressed to a level of technology far beyond that of the other inhabitants of the island. They possess powerful light based magics, which they are able to impart onto their weapons, giving them elemental properties. Being made of rock, or at least a rock-like substance, they are extremely hardy and resistant to damage. They do not have a vocal method of communication, rather communicating through actions and gestures.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Mineralis are humanoid beings made entirely of living rock. Their bodies are composed of various minerals, and they are often embedded with sparkling gems that serve as both adornments and sources of power.    While they do not possess any internal organs, they do have a large gem in their chests where their heart would be, called a Heart Stone, which functions as a source of power and life for them.   The gems embedded in their bodies can have different properties, such as providing energy, enhancing their abilities, or even acting as a form of communication.

Genetics and Reproduction

To reproduce a Mineralis will chip off a piece of their Heart Stone and bury it in the ground, allowing it to seed and grow over the course of 100 years into a new Mineralis that has all the memories of the original from the time the piece was first chipped off. A Mineralis can only do this a maximum of five times before they lose too much of their Heart Stone and effectively die.

Growth Rate & Stages

Mineralis emerge from the ground as fully formed "adults", though the process of seeding and growing from the piece of the Heart Stone does take 100 years.

Ecology and Habitats

The Mineralis make their homes in and around active volcanoes, where the intense heat and molten lava are sources of energy and vitality for them.   They have developed a symbiotic relationship with the volcanic environment, drawing strength from the geothermal energy and using it to enhance their own abilities.   The Mineralis will build giant crystaline Citadels in the middle of these volcanic areas, acting as both a city and base for the species.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Mineralis eat mostly stone, rocks and gems.

Behaviour

Philosophy of Balance:
The Mineralis follow a philosophy centered around balance and harmony with the natural elements. They strive to maintain equilibrium within their ecosystem, understanding the delicate interplay between the living rock and the volcanic forces.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Mineralis society is organized around a council of elders, each representing a specific type of gem or mineral. These elders guide the community with their accumulated wisdom and knowledge.   Decision-making is often communal, with important matters discussed and decided upon through a form of telepathic communication facilitated by their embedded gems.

Average Intelligence

Mineralis are highly intelligent, at least for the island on which they reside.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Energy Manipulation:
Mineralis have the ability to manipulate and harness the energy within their volcanic environment. This power allows them to control the flow of lava, generate heat, and defend their communities from external threats.

Civilization and Culture

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Cultural Affinity for Gems:
Gems hold great cultural significance for the Mineralis. They are not only decorative but also considered sacred. Certain rituals involve the exchange or sharing of gems to strengthen social bonds or mark important life events.   Craftsmanship and Architecture:
Mineralis are skilled craftsmen, carving intricate designs into the volcanic rock and creating structures that blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. Their cities and dwellings are often adorned with luminescent gems that glow in various hues.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

The Mineralis may have unique interactions with neighboring species, especially those living in or around volcanic regions. Trade agreements and alliances could be formed based on the resources each species has to offer.

Interesting concept but it could use some fleshing out.   Especially, "Mineralis eat mostly stone, rocks and gems."   Do they deplete the areas they live in of edible rocks and things and have to move on or do they live in places that naturally replenish lost minerals?   Gems are a lot rarer, do they taste better or provide any greater nourishment than ordinary rocks? Does the act of eating gems (or any other mineral) threaten societies that view gems and precious metals as wealth?

thank you for the coment this is a race that live 200 years so volcaince activaty tend to replenis the resores they displace as deep deastes live in the volcainc depths as they keep the volcanice tempreture up and make the volcince regon last longer than ugal
