Special abilities

Thanks to Augustine’s experiments, Roland has all the standard elixir powers of flight, super speed, super strength, and increased durability. He also heals supernaturally fast, which is not as common among Elixir powered individuals. This could be due to the different formula used, or a pre-existing power that was only noticed later on in Roland’s life.

Personal history

Roland Lloyd is the grandson of Augustine Lloyd, a famous American businessman. Since Roland was a child, he was seen as one of the most likely grandchildren to inherit the company. During the start of the Enamist Crisis, Augustine believed that Lloyd Inc could benefit from its own superhero. He began researching and experimenting with a black market Elixir knock-off.   Augustine chose Roland as the ‘final product’ of his experiments. At the time Roland took the Elixir, the dangerous side effects of the original weren’t yet well known. When Gladiator and Golden Champion’s stories broke, Roland’s father discovered what Augustine had done. They fought, first in private, and later in court when Augustine pushed his daughter to divorce.
Roland’s father was never able to prove anything illegal had happened, and he lost custody. From there Roland grew up With Augustine and his mother.
When Roland came of age, Augustine told him to choose what power group to join in order to earn the company PR. Perhaps as an act of rebellion, Roland chose ORG. He started training in 2016, and joined Dan to form team dauntless. Dan and Roland had a rocky relationship for many years, in part due to Roland’s habit of putting the PR first.
Shortly after team resolute was formed, Roland’s grandfather started having more severe health issues.Roland returned to New York to start putting things in order in case he’d have to take over the company. He discovered that Augustine was being poisoned. The initial blame fell on a struggling nurse who had up charged Augustine. It was later revealed that Roland’s close friend and personal assistant Jacob Dale was the responsible party.
Once the initial poisoner suspect was caught, Roland returned to ORG. He worked with team resolute throughout the 2nd Enamists and 1st Artifact crises. Less than a year later, Augustine passed away, leaving Roland in charge of his company. Roland left ORG to run Lloyd Inc, though he continued to face magical threats and powered threats in his attempts to revolutionize the industry.
Roland returned during the 2nd artifact crises, though he was frequently busy with company matters.

Roland has a masters in business and finance from Harvard.

Employment

Roland worked for ORG from 2016 through 2023. He then took up the CEO position at Lloyd inc.

Social

Family Ties

Roland’s grandfather, Augustine Lloyd, was a powerful business tycoon. Augustine ruled the family with an ironfist, and was not afraid to cross legal and ethical boundaries when it came to getting what he wanted.
Roland has not had contact with either of his parents in a long time. His mother moved to the west coast and following some family drama has not retained contact with the rest of the family. His father lost custody of Roland during the divorce trial and hasn't made contact since.
