Jian

Li Chau was a normal, if underachieving, university student in Shanghai when he stumbled across a smuggling ring operated by the Yellow Turban gang. He fled but accidentally stole a priceless historical artifact. That artifact turned out to be an ancient sword imbued with mystical energy that transforms whoever wields it into a peerless warrior with all the knowledge of every hand that ever held it. When the Yellow Turban returned to recover the word and kill him for stealing it, he was forced to draw it and defend himself, turning him into Jian, the sword-wielding hero of Shanghai and arch-nemesis of the Yellow Turban and their mad leader the sorceress Zhang Yuan. He is a Level 2 hero in the League of Heroes.
