The Welt Clan

The Welt Clan is a family of Gnomes, many of whom are not directly related by blood, who mostly live in the city of Tinkers Delve on Sunderstone. 
Originally the primary gnomish lab that had caused the Transference, the original leaders had taken the event harshly and worked until their deaths to try to right the wrong. 
The current clan has taken up that torch, though with less of an urgent need to fix and more of an academic and exploratory focus. Several families live within the clan, working on their own projects and research but they freely share their findings with the main Welt family who are still focused on piercing the Veil of Storms. 
The Welt Clan are the primary force behind the creation of the Cannon that dominates the city of Tinkers Delve.

Tinkers Delve
A robust town perched on the virtual edge of the world, a rocky volcanic island called Sundrstone. A town as full of smoke and fire as the volcano, Tinkers Delve is built primarily around a gigantic techno-magical cannon, a hulking building with a 100 meter long tube running out of it pointing towards the ever-present roiling horizon to the east.
Sunderstone Sundrstone is dominated by a large volcano to the west that is still active, a long wisp of smoke announcing the islands presence for leagues around.
