The Black Clan

A sprawling family of Smiths, Shipwrights, engineers and Alchemist who have live in the city of Tinkers Delve on the island of Sundrstone. They hold significant political weight in the city though no Black currently holds a Guild Council position. 
The secret of the Black Clan has to do with the Wererat Lycanthropy that runs through the entirety of the clan, a secret kept by all means. This causes the courtship and marriage rituals for the clan to be in depth and convoluted as prospective mates are vetted extremely before being brought into the fold and offered the gift. 
The Black Clan runs an in depth smuggling operation and has many secret, illegal laboratories underground and within the sewers. The Clan has little care for race, allowing all in so long as they are properly vetted to be considered proper for the clan...as in a grey morality and a suspicion of law enforcement. 
The Clan has dozens of legitimate enterprises in the city and is well respected among the upper crust, if looked at with some suspicion due to the rumors surrounding them.

Mother Mathorly
The matriarch of the clan, she officiates all Clan activities from the Black Clan estate in the Hammer District. A striking dwarven female with bright silver hair and a silver streaked black beard she is an accomplished smith. She is considered harsh but fair, never shirking her duties as both the Master of the Black Foundry and as Matriarch of teh Black Clan. 
Jekk Klawn
A prominent member of the Black Clan, he runs the Klaw laboratories in the Guildmounte as well as several clandestine ones deep under the city. He has a large family with dozens of children who all have varying levels of aptitude for Alchemy, Engineering and Blacksmithing.
