The Grey Army
The Grey Army is a military force created by the Grey Empire. It is known for being an organised, highly disciplined force that was the key aspect of conquering the Serilor region of Thorane. The Grey Army is run by the acting heir to the Greycastle throne, and often the heir must become a fully trained soldier in order to take their place as leader.
The Grey Army does not allow wizards, human or Elfir, as the advisor of the King and the leader of the Grey Army (now the King Alastor Greycastle) during the first Fire War was a mage. This advisor was influenced by the Fire Wraiths to allow their warlocks inside Nirai. The injustice of the Fire War is keenly felt amongst the Grey Army as they failed in protecting Nirai when the fires started and the walls fell. Now that Nirai has been rebuilt, many people are starting to rebuild their trust in the Grey Army to protect them.
The Serilor Region of Thorane is the largest region in all of Herievend, even the deserts in Sondron. However, the population density much less than the rest of the continent. Serilor was the only region that did not join the Grey Empire willingly.
The Serilor region had historically always governed itself with use of the Eieken-Brodren (the Lonely Family) alliance, which kept all of the towns friendly and trading with one another. In fact, the Grey Army gave the region the name 'Serilor' and the people 'Serins' as it means 'troublesome'. The people of Serilor have always called their land the Eieken Lands and themselves Eienara .
The Ulvafa are a group of religiously motivated fighters trained in the northern-most points of Serilor, and it was the Ulvafa that made it so difficult to control Serilor. It took twelve years to conquer all of Serilor, and even throughout the reign of Alastor Greycastle, the Serins were very resistant to being ruled by the Greycastle Line.

The leader of the Grey Army should be the heir, Evendur Greycastle, but since his disappearance, his sister, Andraste Greycastle, four years his junior, has assumed this responsibility. Her main task has been to locate him, but she has not.

The Fire Wraiths were originally Elfir before human members joined, and like the rest of Nirai, the Grey Army is distrustful of the Elfir and their magic.
