The Farmers Guild
Farmers:
Barley, wheat, oats, and rye. Beans, peas, cabbages, and onions. Apple, cherry, pear, and blackberry. The soil here is heavy with life. The trees grow thick and wild, but the crops spring from the ground, and yield abundantly. The farmers work hard, harvesting twice as often as mainland fields. They tend the soil masterfully too, rotating crops and cattle in patterns that seem strange to outsiders, but none can deny the truth in the fruits of their labors. It is due to these efforts that Bramblebrush can afford the luxury of its farmland existing entirely within its walls. Although Lord Carlomans taxes stretch the bounds of that luxury more each year. Pigs and chickens eat the scraps and waste of the farming process, cows help rest and revitalize the fields. Semi-wild flocks of geese provide additional meat and down, as well as the wandering herds of goats, and wild aurochs migrate through different areas of nearby fields.
Leaders:
Elbel Elbelson
A natural dowser. He is able to intuit from the soil, and the clouds the correct order of sewing, and which crops to sew. He has begun to dictate an almenac to one of the church's clerks, but fiercly guards the practices and techniques to his art. He is a vocal dissident to church practices, discouraging baptism, and the observince of holidays.
Utte
She is known as 'the workhorse', and pulls a plow herself singlehandedly during the planting season. She has a rugged intuition with farm tools, and can work small wonders with a hammer, and nails. She recludes as much as possible from guild management, defering her vote when possible to the council of elders.
Eckel
A large man, bent as much by a past sickness, as encroching age, as long years in the field. Now he prides himself on being able to talk a good days work out of anybody. He still puts in long hours in and by the fields as a repository of knowlage, and encouragement.
