The Church in Bramblebrush

100 years ago the very first missionary walked through the small settlement that would become Bramblebrush. Only 60 years ago the first church was built. That same foundation now holds the sactuary of its current one. The Chuch's presence in the town is now a fact of life, but its role in life is very different from the fiefs and cities goverened more closely by court politics, in lands were burninings by priests are some of the only untimely deaths that occur, and any violence between people is considered barbaric. In Bramblebrush people die bloody deaths as often as they do in their beds, and Church burnings are a new and strange custom to many here. The Church wants very badly to expand its strength in the border-fiefs, to brighten the flame that burns back the dark, but it must tred more carefully in these unfamiliar parts. In Bramblebrush the Church is the official religion of the town, passed peacefully over by the monistary in exchange for Bramblebrush's blessed walls, and the arming and training of its guard. This has lead to a steady increase in baptized Christians in the town, nearly two thirds of the population.

Public Figures:

Bishop of Upper Bavaria: Paul Cyckel

Bishop of the Bilarian diocese, a territory that includes Valley, the far southern mainland towns and fortresses (Litway, Aurum, Caladad, Forenia, and New Bethleham), as well as Bramblebrush and the other various homes and hovels that line The Road. He is old, wizened, and frail. He appears little in public, but commands the hushed, fearful respect, of all in town. He is known to wield the Lord's Wrath, and is rummored to have Judgement. His sermons, when he delivers them personally, are fire and brimestone incarnate. His vihament passion for the destruction and abjuration of devilish forces is mached only by his unrelenting insistance that his flock maintain their spiritual hygine, lest cracks appear in their divine armor.

Priests: Cynthia Zmel, Trita Zmell

Orphaned by the tragity of 20 years ago, these sisters are now the hand over fist of the Church's authority in Bramblebrush. Trita, an annointed paladin, bears a set of holy armament, and is considered an instrument of Wrath. She is many peoples becon in the darkness, having held the awe and expectation of nearly all in town since she smote the devil-tree. She is firm, passionate and resolute. Cynthia is one of the first blessed to be annointed from amoung Bramblebrush's population, and is the first to serve Bramblebrush as her congrigation. She heads the healing-center of the church, and is herself a proficiant healer. Most of the sermons in town are led by her, her calm, motherly tone carrying strength and comfort.
