The Five Main Seas

The seas of Herastra are all encompassed within the two main oceans; The Merricleian and the Pernicleian. Most land dwellers would refer to the five main seas of the oceans.

Origin

Where as most sailors and Althecan citizens or other sea dwelling creatures would refer to them as the seven thousand seas.
Coined by king Merathar the Great, Supremer Ruler of the Seas. The seven thousand seas, in addition to the five main seas, refer to the six thousand and nine hundred some Maretories of the Althecan empire. Efforts have been made through the ages to maintain the soveregnity of the official canon, although met with resistance, the seven thousand nine hundred and ninety five regions of Althecas still stand to this day.
