Nightfarer

The Nightfarer Division is the covert operations division of the Forces of the Order of the Night Queen. They consist of approximately 150-200 individuals at any one time.

Duties

They provide the Primus Umbra and Council of Shadows with whatever they need in tems of geo-political and covert "assistance".

Hierarchy

#1 Primus Umbra - the highest rank within the Forces of the Order of the Night Queen. Answers only to and advises The Council of Shadows.
#2 Nightfarer 1st Class - Specializes in point-of-no return missions, assassinations, political upheaval and sensitive, classified intelligence gathering and acts as commanding officers to lower rank Nightfarers when on group missions. Mainly acts on their own.
#3 Nightfarer 2nd Class - Focuses on Sniper operations and reconnaissance. Accompanies First Class Nightfarers on group missions or sometimes works on their own.
#4 Nightfarer 3rd Class - Main bulk of the operatives of the Nightfarer Division. Accompanies 2nd Class Nightfarers on group missions.

Qualifications

3rd Class

To be eligible for the Nightfarer Division 3rd Class, you need to have:
At least 5 years experience of field work within the Dawnchaser Division 1st Class or equivalent
or
At least 8 years of experience of field work as a Sergeant of the Star Runner Division special weapons and tactics teams or equivalent
and
Be nominated for a service award by your Chief Commissioner and assessed by Land's Justice and the council of Day's Respite and found to be eligible for the Land's Hero of Respite medal.
After this you're hand-picked by Primus Umbra themselves and put through special training by a former Nightfarer Division 1st Class veteran.

2nd Class

To be eligible for the Nightfarer Division 2nd Class you need to have:
Proven yourself as an expert marksman or intelligence gatherer
and
Two major reconnaisance operations under your belt

1st Class

To be eligible for the Nightfarer Division 1st Class you need to have:
Proven yourself to be loyal in the face of actual magical torture.
and
At least one impactful political assassination under your belt.

Requirements

The minimum physical standards for qualifying for the Nightfarer program are as follows: The recruit must be:

• Able to make a 500 yard swim in 8 minutes or better.
• Able to perform more than 100 pushups within 2 minutes.
• Able to perform more than 100 situps within 2 minutes.
• Able to perform more than 20 pull-ups within 2 minutes.
• Able to complete a 1,5 mile Timed Run faster than 9 minutes.
• Proficient with all types of martial and simple weapons.
• Able to perform feats of magic on a cleric or paladin level.

Appointment

The first thing you have to do to join is to prove your devotion to Novon by euthanizing your horse. If you manage to perform the feat. The clerics of Primus Umbra will resurrect it for you. If you do not manage to perform the feat, your horse will be euthanized permanently for you and you will be expelled from the Order and stripped of any and all awards.
It is estimated that nine out of ten prospects fail to comply and are expelled.
What follows the test of devotion is private lessons with a Nightfarer Division 1st Class, ten year veteran before the official induction to the Division. Where you recieve the Nightfarer Regalia.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

If one breaks the chain of command or endangers the order's agenda or any individual within the order without direct cause. The punishment is death and public defaming of the immediate family.
