Session 12: Chaos Ensues
The teammates meet with Jonah, who introduces them to an ally of Nightshade who will help: Elrath Rhoghull Istaar Shaaldrish, fake royal three-kobolds-in-a-trenchcoat extraordinaire. They decide Glenda and Bria will approach the prison from the front with a charm offensive, whereas the rest of the group will go underground with Elrath. The ladies put two guards to sleep, charm poor young Carlo, stun the Warden and free Elric, while the rest of the gang keeps the other guards occupied in the courtyard. The group doesn’t exactly go unnoticed, but on the upside they succeed their mission without spilling a drop of blood. Well – except for that poor dog, of course, but that was technically not the team’s fault!
They return to the Rookery where they finally meet Nightshade’s leader, Althea Flint. Together, they interrogate Queen Ophelia’s skull, learning quite a few new details in the process. Afterwards Althea admits she was once Moira Cant of the King’s Brigands, and that Morwen used to be her best friend. The team results to keep investigating, as knowledge is power.
(Althea never saw exactly what Morwen did in Veirana, so your discovery of the portal was brand-new to her and everyone else in nightshade! Before, they assumed both Vinde and Veirana had been pointless slaughters, but now it seems there were some sort of point to it... Also, everything Ophelia said was news to them.)
