The Apshun Clan
The Apshun are a type of cave-dwelling vampire. They have a strong spiritual connection to running water and consider underground rivers, streams, and reservoirs to be sacred and make their homes near them. They have a particular type of magic where they can access a metaphysical body of water called "The Deep" when they go to sleep. The Deep connects them to the dreams of any other living creature. They use this to communicate with their family as well as hunt.
They have a peculiar mating practice. Apshun remain with their parents until they come of age, at which time they seek out a mate of their own. They travel to a new cave, either by night or through underground tunnels. There they will enter the Deep and seek out an un-blooded mate from a nearby settlement. They will give them prophetic dreams of the cave and woo them in their dreams to lure them away from their mortal lives. If successful, their mate will come to them and the Apshun will blood them in a ritual called the "mixing of waters". During the ritual, they drain their mate of nearly all their blood and then feed them their own blood. The pair will then settle in their cave and look forward to a life of marital and domestic bliss.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Apshun who are born Apshun tend to look fairly normal (with tendencies for pale skin but not always) until they reach their “middle ages”, at which point they begin to lose their hair. Those who were turned tend to retain their appearance from before for the rest of their life. Apshun have larger pointed ears which stick out rather than point back. Turned Apshun usually only have fangs but born Apshun have nothing but sharp teeth after their baby and adolescent teeth fall out.
Genetics and Reproduction
The Apshun can both birth children and turn others into vampires. To turn their lover, they first drain them and then feed them some of their own blood.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Apshun consume only blood and any attempt to eat solid food leads them to fall ill. Blood from wild animals and “people” are equivalent in nutritional value. In the family unit, only the apshun who was born a vampire and turned their mate will typically hunt (though both their mate and children are capable and will if necessary). The mate and children will rely on this first apshun for their blood.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Weaknesses:
Apshun are highly light-sensitive and fairly weak compared to the other clans. Their eyes are often weak to light and daylight will set them on fire. Garlic and other strong herbs or food repel them as their noses are overtuned.
Strengths/Abilities:
Apshun can see in almost absolute darkness, have echolocation, and a highly sensitive sense of smell. They have a unique psychic ability that allows them to access something called “The Deep”. The Deep is some sort of metaphysical body of water which Apshun navigate to enter others’ dreams. They use this power to lure people into their caves, torment others, communicate with family over great distances, and gather information.
Descriptor Stats:
Light Sensitive: When exposed to a violent flash of light (ex. explosions) you take 1 damage to your mind pool.
"The Deep": Once a night you can attempt to enter another person's dreams.
Ability: You are trained in all perception tasks.
Inability: You are sensitive to light and perception tasks in oversaturated enviorments are more difficult.
