Meilahti Medical District
The district of Meilahti consists of multiple huge hospital areas and countless smaller clinics, streetdocs and cyberdocs. There are less than a hundred thousand people permanently living in Meilahti. Most of the inhabitants are healthcare workers or citizens who are dependent on the nearby hospitals or cyberdocs.
Long lines of people queuing to the cyberdocs to get their monthly updates are not an uncommon sight in Meilahti. Release of a critical update after a particularly nasty zero day vulnerability can cause almost all of the inhabitants of Helsinki to crowd the streets of Meilahti. In events like these police have had to intervene to ensure the safety and progress of the maintenance updates.
The district also has a big market of goods such as harvested organs, used cyberware and pharmaceuticals. Finding a buyer or seller of these goods might be difficult elsewhere, but can be easily found in Meilahti. Many of the buyers in Meilahti are not picky about their sourcing or customers.
