Introduction

Welcome to Hellsinki, the sprawling metropolis where megacorporations reign supreme. In the year 2092, international megacorporations own not only most of the city's land and infrastructure but also exert a controlling influence over the lives of its inhabitants.
Most citizens of Hellsinki didn’t choose to live there but are forced to do so because all the other places are either inhospitable, ruined or owned by the corporations. Many of the districts are slums where the people just focus on surviving another day. While few districts controlled by the corporations are inhabited by the super wealthy elite. Many of them live their whole by purchasing more and more stuff in an attempt to satisfy their ever growing needs. Most of these rich people resemble more machines than human, having replaced major parts of their body in an attempt to reach ever higher corporate goals or just to satisfy their own ego.
Because there is no easy way out of Hellsinki, most people get their break from reality using drugs, virtual reality or other vices. There are also many organisations where with similar interests gather such as drug gangs and religious cults. These organisations have their own interests and influence on the city and its people.
Everything is for sale in Hellsinki. Corps are keeping many of the districts secure from gangs, thugs and other corporations, and if you want to live there you have to pay up. Corps will sell you new body parts and cybernetics to replace your old ones in the pursuit to be young forever or just to live another day in the slum poisoned by the toxins of a nearby factory or weapons test site. Corps also own the only habitable lands outside of the cities and all the methods to get in and out of the city, so they’re the only way to even dream of getting out of Hellsinki.
