Kairon
Veiled Hand
Physical Description
Kairon is neither young nor old—his age, like his identity, is slippery. His skin is pale, almost colorless, as if dusted with ash. His hair is a muted, smoke-gray, worn long and loose around his shoulders. His eyes are a muted silver, unfocused yet unerringly sharp, as if seeing both this world and the next at once.
His clothes are simple, always in shades of grey and black—layers of finely-worn fabric that flutter almost soundlessly as he moves. A thin black veil is sometimes tied loosely around his neck, ready to be drawn over his face when a death is near.
There is nothing overtly threatening about Kairon. His voice is soft, almost dreamlike. His presence feels... inevitable.
Personality
Kairon speaks in riddles and half-truths, treating life and death as points along the same quiet path. He displays little anger, no hatred, and rarely joy—only a tranquil acceptance of all things.
To Kairon, violence is not personal. Mercy and killing are both acts of service. Those who meet him either feel deeply unsettled or oddly comforted, depending on whether they have made peace with their own mortality.
He shows an odd kindness toward the dying—holding their hands, whispering prayers, closing their eyes. But he shows no attachment to the living. All are temporary. All are dust.
Kairon of the Ashen Veil is a quiet, unyielding servant of Thanatos, sworn to guide souls to their destined end without cruelty or pride. He moves unseen through the world, delivering death as both a sacred rite and a final mercy. Neither loved nor feared by choice, Kairon exists only to honor the silence that comes after the last breath.
