Room 6

The double doors open into a large dark room 90 ft by 30 ft. Stucco covers the walls and ceiling of the room and brightly painted scenes cover the stucco. The floor of the room is made of polished stone blocks.   Opposite the doors, three stone steps make a dais upon which stands a golden statue of the goddess Nike. It is a smaller than the bronze statue of Nike you encountered when entering the tomb, but otherwise seems an exact replica of that statue, holding a spear in her right hand and a hoplon shield on her left. You can make out some writing carved around the base of the statue.   To the left and right of the dais are a stone slab. Upon the left slab you can see a humanoid skeleton, on the right slab you see a humanoid-like shape wrapped in linen bandages.   Everything in the room except for the golden statue of Nike has a light covering of dust.   As you pass through the doors, even in the gloom, you can see dark smoke pouring from the skeleton and the linen wrapped shape. The smoke seems to swirl and and spiral until it coalesces into two vaguely humanoid shapes which seem to flitter and flow with the shadows of the room, as you hear unnerving whispers that you can't quite make out.   It feels noticeably colder, and the hairs on your arms stand up, as a chill runs the length of your spine.
As the party feels the cold they are then attacked by the shadows of Hippias and Monika.     The stone slabs are about 7 feet by 3 feet and stand about 3 feet high and are made from marble. The stone slab on the left has the name Monika carved into its side. A human skeleton rests on top of the slab.   The stone slab on the right has the name Hippias carved into its side. A human skeleton wrapped in linen bandages, which are common in funeral rites, rests on top of the slab.   If the bandages are removed the heroes can see that the skeleton wears a crown of gold with six emeralds embedded in it worth 120 gold staters.       The brightly painted scenes depict the life of Hippias and Arsene:   They are born together and grow up in competition with each other. They found the town of Pavlopetri and Arsene marries Monika. Then the battles with the Triton armies.   At the final battle both brothers fight the Triton King, Palamon. In their moment of victory they strike down Palamon, but tragically in the fight Arsene is mortally wounded and dies in his brother's arms.   A burial mound is built to honour both Arsene and Nike. Soon afterwards Hippias marries Monika, but is betrayed by her as she poisons both him and herself. Hippias and Monika are buried with Arsene in the tomb, while Nike protects their spirits in the afterlife.       In the room behind the gold statue is a secret door that can be detected with a DC 15 Intelligence (Investigation) or Wisdom (Perception) check. The secret door can also be found with a passive Perception score of 15 or higher, but the hero must be looking behind the statue to do so as the statue blocks vision to the secret door.   Detection of the secret door does not mean the heroes can open it. See below for the means of opening the door.
If the players investigate the staue:   Golden Statue of Nike Carving   A DC 12 Intelligence (Investigation) or Wisdom (Perception) check or a passive Perception score of 12 or greater will reveal that the spear in the golden statue's hand can be removed.   The large spear can be removed with a DC 12 (Strength) check, and shrinks into a normal sized magical Spear of Victory.   If the torch of 'good' from room 4 is then placed in the right hand, the secret door behind the statue slides open with a grinding sound revealing the entrance doors to Room 7.   Shadow
