Arash The Broken

Fallen From Grace

  Arash was not always The Broken, he was once Arash the Radiant, son of The Sky , who in his quest to prove his worth to his father and the world, ended up dooming himself. For where he was once the lord of dreams and ambitions he is now but a shadow promising vainglory and wealth .In a bygone age, when the Orcs were to be adopted by the his Father, and the other gods the orcs would call theirs, he too saw potential, he became their protector and steward, and in some stories advisor to Grumash himself! But as time wore on, and he saw the innate weakness in the Orcs, as gifted by his Father, and as he had feared, when the Grumash died, the orcs began to seek their own ways, and not the vision of Grumash, no the vision he had helped create, he grew furious with the orcs for wasting what he had given them, wisdom, foresight and thus he saw it fit to rein them in, to take their peoples under his wing, so that he could guide them, where his father wouldn't. But his Father grew furious at this, and broke his son upon a mountain, shattering his physical body into a thousand pieces.  

Whisper in the Night

Though his body is broken, Arash still holds influence in the heart of mortals, he has become a sinister whisper carried by the midnight wind, poisoning the minds of mortals with promises of glory and wealth, and old warrior promised vigour to fight once more, a Governor receiving aid to further his career, a warlord given dreams of glory and honor, for as little as a prayer and devotion.   Though he mostly attempts to retain his hold over the orcish race, he is at times known to spread his whisper to other races, but the Orcs hold a long history with him, often hailing him as the corrupter, for he takes away that which the other gods gave them to define themselves as Orc. He is often known to target orcish warlords or promising leaders amongst their people, for he longs to see an empire of their kin, as in times of old, an empire dedicated to himself, for surely he is the most worthy of all the gods to receive the adoration mortals, was it not he who gave them their dreams, was it not him who aided and guided them towards their conquest, and in peace did he not aid them maintain their power, while the others did nothing he aided them achieve all that which they dreamed of.  

Those who Follow

All those whom strike a pact with Arash find themselves changed in some fundamental way, for once you allow him to access to once souls he will begin to make you into a more perfect image of his will. Though such effects varies on each person. The Orcs his chosen people, the effect his influence affects them in a different way they loose their heart, their flame of Morkai. Their skin turns pale green or ashen grey, their eyes turn dull, they become perfect in the eyes of Arash; obedient, pragmatic, ambitious and eager for conquest.   Arash is known to be very protective of his followers, for they have sworn themselves to him after all, and his pride will not allow them to fall without him attempt intervene. But He is also a very strict god, those who fail to live up to his standards are known to suffer a terrible end.

Aspects

The Conqueror

Arash hungers to reclaim his glory, to take back what his rightfully his, a land of his own, a people of his own, a country worthy of his name. Arash encourages his follows to spread his name by the sword, to claim more lands and glory for themselves. his worshipers who follow this aspect are fearless warriors and warlords whom do not know pity.

The Thinker

Arash confined beneath the earth in shattered pieces, has spent centuries in thought, quite meditation on what wrong and hateful thoughts alike. He encourages his follows to think and reflect, to be pragmatic in all things, and to seek a sense solace in once mind, on how to achieve once goals, to reflect on how you have been wronged to seek revenge.

The Dreamer

Arash was once the god who gave the orcs the ambition to crush their overlords, and aided his father in seeing the orcs free themselves from tyranny. He gave them dreams of glory, dreams of freedom, dreams to start families who would not fear the whip. Now This aspect has turned, it has been twisted by millennia of seething hate for his father, the dreamer now only gives ambitions of wealth and glory, it encourages his follows to rule, to destroy their competition and rule their lands with an iron fist for whatever means they may once have dreamed of.  

Worship

Arash is a very proactive god, greatly invested in his followers, and potential targets for his whispers, as such it rather easy to draw his attention, but to he has many rituals to appease him.  

Rituals

A common way to attract his attention is to isolate oneself in room with no light, after which one should begin to talk about once goals and reasons to wish for his attention, preferably by refering to him by name, to ensure that it truly is him that is attracted by the ritual.   A more extreme approach and a sacred ritual, is to have oneself buried alive(usually with some sort of method for breathing), and lie beneath the soil for as long as possible, to truly connect with god, and empathize with his struggle.  

Prayer & Dedication

Their are many ways to earn his favor, perhaps the easiest his simply to worship him, and adore his name. To spread his name by the sword. The truly devoted inflict self mutilation, to better reflect their god.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Usually his iconography is a depection of a broken tush, or broken limps. Though older sigils still hold power such as the three pronged star.

Tenets of Faith

His followers are scattered and quite distinct, but usually his tenets adhere to something resembling this:   Do not suffer betrayal unanswered. Give in kind all that you receive.   Do not fight heedlessly. Fight only for to spread his name, fight only for the tribe.   Do not boast without meaning. Act only with reason, act only when necessary.   Do not allow yourself to wilt. Focus on your studies, focus on your duties.   Do not give without reason. Compassion is a gift, best spent on those you cherish you.
