Not long after the creation of humans, the gods began to argue and split into what are now known as pantheons. Different factions raised up their chosen people. Some gods were content to simply carve out their own region to rule over, a place for their power to reside. Others chose to attempt to conquer more for themselves.

The god war started and ended with death. Death of gods, death of mortals and the separation of many. During this cataclysm of celestial proportions, the geography of the world changed, the continents grew apart, natural borders were put up by the gods wanting to protect their chosen people. The gods fought against each other, while their mortal followers fought and butchered each other as well. It is because of this war that the continents are where they are and the people worship who they do.     The war ended because of the actions of the god Tyr, now held in high regard as the god of justice but he was once something completely different. The gods lead by Tyr sought after more power and so they raised up specific mortals to act as their champions. One such champion became Tyrs favoured and became like a son to Tyr. Tyr used his champion to wage war on other gods and gave him powers beyond any mortal, the power to kill gods. Tyr and his fellow gods used their champions to wipe out an entire pantheon of gods now lost to memory. Tyr overestimated the control he had over his champion, the champion became known as the Fallen One. He lead the remaining champions of multiple factions in a war against the gods themselves, they slew gods and took their power for themselves. The gods overcame their differences, settling on borders defined by where they are worshipped, the gods took on the Fallen One and his army, gods died in the battle, Tyr lost both his eye and his arm. Despite the betrayal, Tyr could not bring himself to kill the man he once saw as his son, he instead banished him to a Demi-plane of his own creation, a paradise.
