The Turn

The winter solstice (1st of Turning) marks the start of the new year, and this day is marked by a festival to Balcosh.
As night falls, large bonfires are lit in towns and villages. Prayers of thanks are said, and sacrifices of food or small items are offered to the fires. Communities proceed to celebrate the new year with feasting and music into the night.
