Maskan Rock

Maskan Rock looms high above the eastern coastline of Bostin, a fortress of solid stone and grim determination. Perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the Sea of Fair Winds, the fortress commands sweeping views of the ocean. Its elevated position and thick, reinforced walls make it an imposing sight, a testament to the power and pride of its master, Lord Drus Morritash.   The stronghold itself is a formidable structure. The central keep is a towering edifice, built from dark stone that blends seamlessly with the rocky cliffs. Watchtowers flank the fortress on either side, providing vantage points for observing both sea and land approaches. A sprawling courtyard, shielded from the coastal winds, lies at the heart of the fortress, and it is here that Morritash drills his troops with relentless discipline. The walls of Maskan Rock, thick and unyielding, have been built to withstand sieges and storms alike, making the fortress a near-impregnable bastion.   Inside, the halls of Maskan Rock are sparsely furnished, reflecting Morritash’s austere tastes and focus on military readiness. The fortress’s defences are bolstered by a well-trained garrison, but despite their strength, the men and women under Morritash’s command chafe under his bitter moods and frustrated ambitions, for beneath the fortress’s veneer of strength lies a simmering resentment. Lord Morritash, a minor noble in the region of Bostin, has long envied the influence wielded by Yan Ghernon, the Lord Guardian of Bostin, who resides in the nearby city of Mintrass. Despite Maskan Rock’s strategic location and Morritash’s impeccable military acumen and service in the War of Salvation, he has remained a lesser power in the region, his ambitions thwarted by Ghernon’s firm grip on Bostin’s political and military spheres.   Lord Morritash’s bitterness has led him to consider drastic measures. Though he has remained outwardly loyal to Lord Guardian Ghernon, whispers of secretive meetings and shadowy visitors have begun to circulate among those who serve at Maskan Rock. It is said that Morritash has begun to entertain offers from foreign agents - possibly envoys from the League of Mar Miskun or even Terosian spies - seeking to exploit his resentment and turn him against his own lord.
