History of the Seynan Islands

The Seynan Islands have a rich history shaped by the settlement of Newcomers and the challenges they faced. In the early centuries, towns such as Beranan and Torbanan were established by people from Forbin, but Beranan was destroyed during the war against Tekkaron. Over time, the islands became a haven for various groups, including refugees and adventurers, like the Kazlaa who took refuge on Sar Ferrat. The islands declared independence from Forbin in 985 and established a council structure, marking a significant step in their self-governance.   Throughout the centuries, the Seynan Islands faced natural disasters, like the storm surge of 1672, and defended themselves from external threats, such as the corsair raiders defeated at the Battle of Sar Ferrat in 1741. The islands also became known for maritime activities, with the first race around the Seynan Islands held in 1988, becoming an annual festival.   The 23rd century has been marked by the emergence of significant figures, including the Sea Wizard Ghilar Khannas, and political developments as various leaders rose to prominence. The islands remain a key player in the region, with a strong maritime tradition and a history of resilience and independence.
