Dassantarra
Dassantarra was a goddess who was slain by a mortal in the times when the gods still walked the living realms. She was the goddess of change, discovery, and of desire. Dassantarra would often take different forms as she roamed the world, and was fascinated by mortals and their brief lives. She fell in love with a human, Tekkaron, who would later betray and destroy her.
Tekkaran took Dassantarra's spear and thrust it into her heart. The goddess died, and her divine being was shattered into countless pieces, and blown to the winds. Dassantarra's death infused the living world with the force of magic, and Tekkaron himself was filled with new power. He would later rise to become a mighty tyrant, claiming all lands as his own.
Dassantarra's realm became a wild, ungoverned place, and the boundary between it and the living lands was weakened; indeed, some of its inhabitants slipped through into the lands of the mortals. Those mortals gifted with magical powers may also reach through that boundary, drawing on the energies of Dassantarra's realm and calling to its denizens.
Dassantarra is no longer worshipped, and her temples are lost to the ages. Her legacy is still present as mortals, touched by the forces of magic, attempt to wield this power for their own purposes.
