Bloodstone

Bloodstone is a solitary castle nestled within the rugged Missen Hills, serving as the residence of Lord Kaprallin Shirr, a cunning Kazlaa with a reputation for treachery. The castle’s design is dominated by a single tall tower constructed from dark stone, seamlessly blending into the rocky terrain. This natural camouflage makes it difficult to spot from a distance, allowing Bloodstone to stand as a hidden bastion of power and ambition amidst the unforgiving landscape.   The castle itself, though compact, includes a modest keep and a few outbuildings clustered around the main tower. These structures provide living quarters for Lord Shirr’s personal retinue of soldiers, scouts, and spies. Within the tower’s walls are several levels dedicated to various purposes, from armories and barracks to meeting halls where Shirr hatches his schemes. The main tower rises above it all, housing the lord’s private chambers and a war room filled with maps and correspondence detailing his plans.   A small terrace at the top of the tower offers a vantage point over the surrounding hills, providing an ideal position to watch for approaching threats or visitors. Lord Shirr’s presence is always felt, his gaze seemingly everywhere, a testament to his relentless vigilance. The lower levels of the castle contain barracks and storage areas, stocked with supplies to withstand prolonged sieges. The underground sections, though limited, conceal hidden passages and secret rooms where Shirr meets with those who seek his favour - away from prying eyes.   Bloodstone’s rugged exterior belies the delicate threads of power being woven within. As a veteran of the War of Salvation, Lord Shirr is driven by a desire to sow dissent among the lords of southern Forbin against Trybon Fane, the Golden King. His reputation as a renegade has drawn a number of discontented followers to his side, forming a force of seasoned warriors and cunning scouts that operate from the safety of Bloodstone’s walls.   Recent rumours suggest that Shirr’s ambitions extend far beyond his stronghold in the Missen Hills. He is said to be harbouring a stolen missive that could unravel the Golden King’s rule, a secret so dangerous that even his own allies are unsure of his next move. Those bold enough to venture into Bloodstone may find themselves entangled in a web of deceit and manipulation, where loyalty is tested, and betrayal lurks in every shadow.
