The Harbor

Written by Ken D

The Harbor is a district once used by the Old Folk as a trading-city. The land itself is divided into many regions including Cait, Cæ'e and Circinn (inhabited by Others), Ffifbe, Fidach, Fotla and Fortriu (inhabited mainly by Mutes and their owners) and Tarawong (inhabited mainly by bandits and cyborgs). Tarawong is the largest city, encircled by the smaller ones.   Most of the inhabitants are bandits, although cyborg are a minority group in Tarawong. Cyborgs normally live where the machines live, but some prefer the company of "fleshy" folk. There are also many unknown and strange races, referred to as "Others", said to have been a result of the Old Folks' experiments. Mutes (people that have been sterilized via chemicals and had their tongues, noses, ears and lips removed before being sold into slavery) are also populous.

Demographics

Bandits- 67%   Cyborgs- 20%   Mutes- 10%   Others- 3%

Government

There are no laws in this district, although certain orders known as "Fikk" are given out:   Stealing- if you value your body, do not steal. Your left arm will be chopped off if you steal. Steal a second time, your head will be choped off.   Lies- do not lie. If you lie, your nose will be cut off. Lie more than three times, you will lose your eyes.   Murder- do not murder. If you murder, you will be Muted.

Defences

Moats of acidic water surround the area, each moat is backed by walls, each wall with artillery-towers. There are about 600 towers, but only 20 are operational.

Industry & Trade

Once a trading-city, the inhabitants of the Harbor now work selling weapons and mechanical augments. Slavery is also a profitable business, with prices for Mutes increasing since 15 AE.

Infrastructure

The area is mostly powered by watermills and windmills. The sewers are inhabited by fish and mutated alligators. The courtyards are where spirits normally dwell. The remaining technology, such as blast-furnaces used to make mechanical components, are maintained by cyborgs. The roads and bridges are broken down and unused, with people instead using the simple gravel-paths to move around the cities. The shipyards, where massive black boats from the Tagaloa once came carrying trading-goods, have been converted to "Flesh-Bazaars" where slaves (Mutes) are sold.

Assets

Weapons. You could purchase any form of weapon you wanted, considering that the cyborgs would make it for you. You'd have to have a lot of money, though.

Guilds and Factions

The bandits are the rulers of the Harbor, with the cyborgs and Mutes and Others falling under their rule. Protestors are killed, or Muted and sold as slaves.

History

In 597,949 DE, at the beginning of the Dark-Age, the Old Folk severed connections with the land. As such, the once-thriving city slowly collapsed into what it is today.

Architecture

The only architecture to be seen is what's left of the Folks' buildings, mainly sky-scrapers and museums now lay to waste.

Geography

This concrete jungle, with its tall sky-scrapers and acid-lakes, is any nature-lovers' nightmare. There are no trees to be seen anywhere for miles. The air is poison, and you need a gas-mask to walk around. The meat is infected with radiation and will kill you if you eat it, the water is brackish and acidic and the only places where one can get a drink are at the wells, but the water in these wells is infected with Red-Plague.

Natural Resources

There are no "resources" here, except illegal Nuclear-Magic.
