Fluxtime

Fluxtime is the phenomenon in which time itself falters slightly, either increasing or decreasing in speed. Fluxtime occurs once every 4 years, and is marked on the Folken-Calendar. Some areas manifest Fluxtime at regular intervals, sometimes every 3 days or so. It is said that Fluxtime is a result of the Old Folk experimenting with Runes. Not much changes during Fluxtime, although the sun and moon will move either slower or faster during the phenomenon.

Manifestation

Fluxtime manifests as a lengthening or shortening of the days of Heimland. The Folken-Calendar is thus an effective way to measure time during this event. The 840-day Folken-Calendar has been used by the races of Heimland to measure days and events (such as special ceremonies) ever since the Old Folk vanished. The calendar is divided into 20 months (Araḫ) that are separated into three seasons (Šatti): Reš-Šatti, Mišil-Šatti and Kīet-Šatti. The months are Araḫ-Akhet, Araḫ-Peret, Araḫ-Shemu, Araḫ-Pleni, Araḫ-Cavi, Araḫ-Nisānu, Araḫ-Āru, Araḫ-Simanu, Araḫ-Dumuzu, Araḫ-Abu, Araḫ-Ulūlu, Araḫ-Tišhritum, Araḫ-Samnu, Araḫ-Kislimu, Araḫ-Ṭebētum, Araḫ-Šhabaṭu, Araḫ-Addaru, Araḫ-Adār, Araḫ-Makaruša-Addar and Araḫ-Addaru-Arku. Each month has 42 days (seven days per week, thus six weeks in a month) and each day is 90 hours (Binai) long. During Fluxtime a day may increase or decrease by 4 binai.

Localization

Fluxtime manifests in areas with high concentrations of NM, such as near the Badlands or in Raginwald. It is also more common in Taprobane, where the Mörktornet resides.
