The Finale

Once there was a farmer who's daughter had fallen ill to an unknown disease, and he spent all his time, and wealth trying to find ways to save her. Potions, remedies, magic, nothing worked to cure her. The farmer became so desperate, he made his way to the largest town, and began begging people to help his daughter. With not a copper piece to his name, his pleas fell on deaf ears, until a man dressed in noble's clothes approached him, telling him he was a healer by trade, passing through on his way home from the academy. The man agreed to help the farmer, and they set out back to the daughter, whos conditioned had worsened since the farmer had left. The nobleman noted to the farmer that his fields were barren, and questioned how he planned to survive without his yield. The farmer informed the nobleman that the care for his daughter was more important than any yield he could produce. The nobleman looked at her condition, and told the farmer he could heal her, but he required the antlers of a wild deer. The farmer, knowing the law against hunting in his lords forests, undertook the task anyway, and for four days he sat quiet in the woods and waited until finally a massive buck emerged. Whether it was luck or desperation, the farmer loosed a perfect arrow that hit the buck square in the heart. The farmer took the antlers and made haste back to his daughter, and when he arrived the nobleman ground up the antlers into a powder and served them with water to the daughter, but her conditioned did not heal. Next the nobleman required the father to fetch a shell from the sea, which he did so unquestioningly. The journey took an entire week, but the farmer's will was strong and he retuned with the shell, which like the antlers before, the nobleman crushed up and served to the daughter, but still her condition was unchanged. Finally the nobleman told the farmer he could think of one last ingredient that may save her life. The father was instructed to gather the fresh tooth of a Dragonborn and bring it to him. The farmer relented, and traveled back to the town where he knew a Dragonborn ran one of the shops. Breaking into his house at night, the farmer ruthlessly beat the Dragonborn and took three of his teeth, before he returned to his daughter. Upon returning, the farmer came into his home only to find his daughter already dead and the nobleman gone. Rushing to her side he attempted to crush up the teeth and give them to her as he had seen the nobleman do, but nothing changed. Turning around, the farmer noticed the nobleman in the doorway, although instead of his noble clothes, he now wore a blood crimson tunic with a hood covering his face. The farmer began to protest and scream at him, saying he promised he could save her. The figure in the door began to slowly rise off the ground, giving the father a look at his pale face, and piercing red eyes, and with his arms outstretched he proclaimed-   "Fool! Did you really think you could save her? I am Death. None are safe from me!"   And with that, the figure left, leaving the farmer with his deceased daughter in the house, no crops to make a living off of, and nothing left in the world.
