Ossenbrügge

Ossenbrügge (lit. "Oxen-Bridge" in Early Modern North Wythian) is a rural, sparsely populated farming community in Northwythe, roughly 50 miles southeast of Berstrum. Straddling a minor tributary of the river Vecht, the village has been a steadfast yet thoroughly unremarkable fixture of the Hangeschön Steppe for countless centuries.

Notable Residents

  • Alaric Webber: Burgomeister of Ossenbrügge, elevated to the position in 404 AU by order of Gerdt Vogel, Edler of Esslingen. Sympathetic to the plight of the town's peasantry, but fiercely loyal to Edler Vogel and by extension, Freiherr Ottfried von Berstrum due to owing them his position.
  • Eberlin Schmidt: The village blacksmith. Deals mainly with the creation of nails, hinges, and farming equipment, but will occasionally forge more specialized items. Tall and broad with a thick beard the color of rust, it is often rumored (in hushed tones) that Eberlin may have a touch of Sevnóni blood.
  • Syman Müller: Owner of the Ossenbrügge Mill. Had his tongue torn out by a travelling knight in his youth, rendering him mute. Lives with his wife Matilda and largely keeps to himself.
  • Ursula Krüger: The elderly female proprieter of the Gasthaus zum Hetzen, the village's sole (and somewhat-dilapidated) inn, tavern, and eatery. Is mostly deaf and entirely blind, relying on her two sons Hanns and Hensel to manage the day-to-day affairs of the inn.
