Hodámat
Below lie all available knowledge on the Azárian perversion of our benevolent gods gifts that take the form of magic in our world, known simply to them as Hodámat (Imperial Wythain: The Gift).
I would like to thank my friend and colleague Master Heyso Hertel at the University of Acton for his continued translation of the Azárian's barbaric language. Rest assured I shall undertake the dreaded task of adding it to the list of languages I hold proficient knowledge of, once I find time.
The primitive form of magic practiced by the Azárians of Barazár, Hodámat focuses on freeing oneself from the world in order to obtain a connection to their chief deity Azdar and his subsequent children.
Origins
The exact origin of Hodámat was lost during the Azarian Lost Era, an era over five hundred years before the ascension of our esteemed Emperor. While minimal record keeping is a trend with Azárian historians, this has not stopped speculations of it's origins from arising. The users of Hodámat do not use the gifts of magic like Wythians. Instead of harnessing the power to assist their home, the Azárians use only a fraction of their power, not to fight or strengthen oneself, but instead using it to better grow crops, fight fires, and aid when other natural and non-natural disasters strike. According to my sources, if a user of Hodámat attempts to misuse their powers for personal gain they would be cursed to the Derwezeleri with Dâei. Note: It is commonly accepted by Wythian scholars that Azárians do not posses the magical prowess of other peoples due to their barbarity and godless nature.Limitations
Those who are granted the meager abilities to harness Hodámat are not permitted to take political positions of power. Instead they are expected to join the heretic cult Ákelchót, the Azárians mockery of an organized church.
