Cult of the Denouement

"... but He was born right after his sister, with an unquenching thirst to end her and all that she bore into the world."
  • quote from the Enchiridion of Denouement
  • Overview

The Cult of Denouement follow an elusive deity known either as the Gonshare (Imperial Wythian: The Whole Night), the Thaptol (Imperial Wythian: The Black Serpent), or Dasende (Imperial Wythian: The End). In Wythe this deity takes the latter name, however to the East and South he is known better by the former two. Note: The name Thaptol will be used for the following passages.   Little is known of the history of Thaptol, other then he is the brother of Life, who the Cult interprets as a sister deity thats inside all living things. Thaptol is described as the absence of light, a dark serpent that can block out all light. Besides this, he is also a shapeshifter, being able to take the form of any creature it pleases for a time. To grow and thrive, Thapol must consume on Life herself which has led the Cult to preform sacrifices in his name in return for gifts, pleasures, and more.

    Origins

Where the Cult of Denouement came from is still speculated to this day, but early records indicate it spread from the far East, past the known boundaries of Heimaalin.
