College of the Bells

The College of the Bells is a bardic organization in Mostovera founded in the year 102 AU. Spoken of in fable and legend, the Vestiges train their initiates to act as guardians against evil spirits and aberrations in the world. Living through the teachings of the First Vestige Tibeth Allatinum, these bards work to rid the world of the undead and other beings that plague the natural passing of spirits to the afterlife.   Initiates at the college are subjected to years of training and study to understand every known horrid force of darkness the world has to offer - and how best to stop them. Additionally, after an initiate has proven themselves, they embark on a pilgrimage across the former Wythian Empire, acting as a missionary and an exorcist.   The tools these bards use are known in record to be the Vestiges' Bells, an assortment of seven bells made from pure silver and each with their own effect when rung. These bells act as a conduit for magic, and the bandolier worn over a wearer's chest is symbolic of their status as a member. The names of the bells correspond to the first Seven Vestiges, who founded the organization: Tibeth, Antoth, Karthin, Farthen, Bavarnos, Saran-Rae, and Astareal.   Following the moratorium on magic in Santa Alessa, the College proved their worth as a capable force against the Sinopan necromancers to the north, and were allowed to practice magic with the regulation that all new initiates must be strictly vetted by the Alessan Inquisition. It is rumoured that several members of the Inquisition are members themselves, but none yet have arisen to the rank of Vestige.
