Chief Architect Mertin Steiter

Born in the city of Dalhurt in the year 24BU, Mertin Steiter is said to have had an uneventful youth, save for the fact that he was of an artistic prodigy, being able to paint with both his left and right hands simultaneously, a skill he utilized later in life. While many Wythian artists at the time were painting landscapes and portraits for the upper elite, Mertin would spend his time on the streets of Dalhurt, repainting it in his own image, with designs of grandeur of what the city could've been in his eyes. He studied the architecture, and made his own improvements in his imaginary world. Mertin's luck would change when the graces of our glorious Emperor peered down on Mertin while he sketched on the street. Taking an interest in his work, our Emperor employed the young dreamer, and from some accounts a close bond formed between the two, taking long walks around the city and redesigning it inside their heads. When the Emperor was crowned, their talks shifted from redesigning Dalhurt, to redesigning Westwythe, and after Westwythe, the world. Steiter's formal education was gifted by the Emperor, and he became well versed in Architecture and Engineering.
