Seekers

The Seekers are the Government's first line of defence against those who would see their state destroyed. That said, they generally cannot detect the older forms of magic and definitely don't understand the deeper levels at play.

Maybe placing the lower achievers at school responsible for the security of the state isn't the best idea. It's probably a good thing that they are only the visible portion of the defences.

In each unit of seekers there are between ten and twenty people, each with their own roles within the group to help them to perform their function for the Government, looking for those who would oppose them.

They are only in the field for a few days to a week at a time generally so their supply chain is almost non-existent, only the members are responsible for carrying all their food and equipment.

Equipment

Their equipment is a mix of high tech and extremely basic. Some units are merely assigned to postal surveillance which just requires their own magical skills and very little equipment at all.

With people in the field, the equipment can be far more advanced with magical trackers and detectors to reveal illegal magical signals and spikes to help lead them to these illegal activities.

In order to make arrests, they are also armed when they go out on these missions.

Tactics

This formation uses more underhanded tactics, spying on the general population on behalf of the Hearthwell House to enforce their ideas of what is 'good' magic.

Training

After leaving a recognised Ministry of Magical Education school and sixth form, a recruit can go straight into training. Basic training only takes three months but can then be followed by more months of modules for the development of more specialist skills.

Recruits are selected from the bottom half of applicants from the schools. Advertising for recruits is done at careers fairs at the schools, offering good pay and high esteem they are never short of applicants.
