Zarathul, the Binder of Pacts

As you walk through the office, you are struck by a cold wind. Turning your head, you see a figure looking at you through a black hood. His eyes are covered, but you see a sharp glow clearly pointed in your direction. Papers begin to swirl around this figure as the many people seem to be oblivious. The room grows darker and darker as he begins to approach. With each step, you see the happenings of your life. Your childhood, then your formative years, up until this very day. He's close enough for you to make out the shining detailing of his cloak before you hear a slight chuckle and the man disappears. Light comes back into the room, as your fear begins to fade. No one seemed to see what you did...

Origin

Zarathul is the youngest of the major gods. Having made many deals with divine beings, he wormed his way into enough power to be considered a god all on his own.

Alignment

Zarathul is evil, yet extremely lawful.

An obsidian dagger, symbolizing precision and the cutting nature of contracts.

Appearance

Zarathul is a tall, imposing figure cloaked in black robes.

Form

An immortal elf with black, piercing eyes. He carries with him a few rattling chains and silver etchings along his cloak.

Aura

Zarathul radiates a calm, cold demeaner that seems to suck the air out of any room he is in. The very light of the sun seems to be stolen away by his shade.

Aesthetics

A magical quill follows Zarathul, scribbling on many open contracts that orbit the god, always working on a new deal or collecting from those who breach their agreements.

Divine Powers

Zarathul has the ability to bind even the most powerful creatures to his will should they violate a contract with him personally.

Involvement

Zarathul offers his powers to mortals, and only mortals, to gain strength over other creatures on their planes. When someone uses his strengths against a god or lesser nobility, he is not afraid to revoke their lives.

Followers

The followers of Zarathul often radiate his power to a small degree, as deals are a common occurance for this deity.

Popularity

While the most popular of the evil gods, Zarathul still recieves mixed blessings from the people of civilized realms, seeing him as dangerous and manipulative.

Influence

Contracts made my Zarathul are limited to his affairs with mortals, although he is often a logical sounding block for godly affairs, assisting Vardis from time to time.

Among the Gods

The other gods respect Zarathul's ability to gain dedicated followers for seemingly small amounts of power. Some are jealous however, though they know better than to question the master of revenge.

Personality

Zarathul is an easy going god with fresh souls, but once you've made a contract with him, you are bound and all joy leaves his face.

Temper

Zarathul does not get angry. If you do something to displease him, he either leaves you alone if you don't have a contract, or simply harvests your soul.

Demeaner

Zarathul is a smooth talker, often reciting the reasons why a deal with him would make more sense than following one of the other gods. Especially if you have an evil history.

Heart

Zarathul wants to usurp the power of Thaloros, that is clear to everyone. Still, he doesn't have near enough followers for that. Maybe one day.
"Quiet mortal. I have no reason to collect your soul yet. All I ask you to do in return for abusing my gift is a... little favor..."
