Vardis, the Judge of Equilibrium

The air around you begins to shimmer and you see a new room surrounding you. You blink and find yourself in what looks like a courtroom. Balanced scales are everywhere and in front of you, a large, silver cloaked figure sits on a raised podium. You don't know what's going on, but you hear the banging of a gavel on some kind of judge's stand. To your right, you see your allies, in a gallary of sorts build into this ethereal room. There doesn't seem to be any entrance or exit. It is then you notice a woman with one wing to your right. She shuffles some papers and looks at you, no expression on her face. You turn and notice another figure, a man with one wing, next to a figure from your past, glaring at you with a cheesy smirk on their face...

Origin

Vardis is the embodiment of the shadow of Thaloros. It is in seeing life act without law or order that caused this shadow to split and seek justice for all lies and false promises.

Alignment

Vardis is Lawful Neutral, not concerned with weakness or strength, only in following the law.

Symbol

A pair of perfectly balanced scales on the base of a sword, representing balance and fairness at all costs.
 

Favored Weapon

Vardis uses a perfectly polished Rapier in war, symbolizing precision and the cutting nature of the law.

Appearance

Vardis is a tall, imposing figure in a gray suit of armor and a flowing cloak.

Form

Appearing as a human in polished silver. He sits atop a chair in his own personal courtroom that seems to travel with him wherever he goes.

Aura

A silvery glow surrounds Vardis, as most in his presence find it hard to fight the urge to tell the truth.

Aesthetics

Scales surround Vardis in his courtroom, all constantly shifting with each other as he moves, but always returning to perfect balance.

Divine Powers

Vardis is able to do almost anything, but only if you break a contract he himself was a part of drafting.

Involvement

Vardis will come for the souls of those that break his laws as soon as they die on the mortal plane.

Followers

Vardis's followers are often lawyers or judges, sometimes kings and clergy members. They make deals as part of their living and are allowed to represent Vardis when it comes to their contracts so long as they follow all of his many rules.

Popularity

Not many are more respected for their character than Vardis. Whenever a major deal is to be made, he is made a part of it, at least in name alone.

Influence

Vardis is the tie that binds good and evil together, as all who use his contracts keep them to the best of their abilities.

Other gods use Vardis's standards when it comes to their disputes with each other, knowing that whatever he decides will be fair to the wording of their contracts.

Personality

Vardis does not have a good sense of humor. If he is called, it is for a purpose. He does not give his power to his followers outside of contracts.

Temper

Vardis will hold you in contempt of his court, punishable by years of servitude or any other punishment he sees fit.

Demeaner

Always fair, Vardis will not go seeking trouble or trying to catch people in webs of trouble, yet he is not afraid to be blunt and to the point.

Heart

At his core, Vardis is a good, but not too good, god. He will never try to confuse or cheat his constituants in any way. What he says is always the truth.
"I have given you multiple chances to make good on your promise. Disobey me again, and I will be forced to hold you in contempt."
