There's a reason why no one goes down there! One word. Salamanders. Huge ass shadowy salamanders that'll gobble you up like an afternoon snack!
Geography
Location: Beneath the Avazan Desert Kilometers beneath the surface dwells a massive hollowed out cavity. An extensive network of tunnels surrounds the cavity and connects it sparingly to the surface world.Ecology
Ecosystem
The local ecosystem is diverse and self-sustaining. Crystals serve as energy sources this far down. The walls are adorned by xaxga crystals. Many of which produce light equivalent to starlight. The largest of the crystals emit light that would outshine the brightest full moon. Indigo and lavender hues have come to saturate the cavity. Both living and nonliving things are doused in it. Lakes of water dot the landscape. Geothermal vents, either on the land or submerged, serve as sources of nutrients and/or energy.Organisms
The cavern hosts a wide array of both flora and fauna. Swaths of umbra and halumb trees densely populate regions throughout the cavern. Fields of violet prackle-ferns are the most extensive biome down there. Burrowing turatura birds dwell around the walls and within the pillars of rock acting as natural support beams to the cavern.History
Ages ago, the caverns were magma chambers that eventually dissipated, leaving behind vast deposits of fertile soil and hollow spaces. The cavern was located directly beneath Ground Zero. Due to this, the entire cavern system is saturated heavily in the energy signatures of the Meteor. This led to higher activity in the xaxga crystals as well as the advent of the diverse and unique flora and fauna. For a brief time, the cavern served as a dwelling place for a small population of empyrals. After their departure, only their obelisks remain. The cavern was located directly beneath Ground Zero. Due to this, the entire cavern system is saturated heavily in the energy signatures of the Meteor. The saturation of energy has led to the accelerated growth of any organism dwelling within the caverns, whether native or outsider. Merely venturing down into the cavern can rejuvenate one's health and extend their lifespan. Any crop, foreign or native, grows both larger and more quickly than their normal counterparts. The only side effect of long-term exposure is one's body being permanently dyed indigo.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
