Rhorhoan
The Rhorhoan people value strength and integrity to an extreme degree, but what they call "integrity" some label as brutal honesty. Some warrior cultures see emotion as a distraction and prefer more pragmatic approaches, but Rhorhoan culture shuns this notion. It is by embracing their passion that they are truly alive and it is what "separates us from animals".
To hold back tears of anger or elation is seen as strange. People shout or growl when upset, clap or skip when jubilant, and dance or sing in times of merrymaking. This is one part how they see a healthy person should behave, but is also a safety mechanism. For Rhorhoan people without serious practice, emotion outbursts can prove deadly.
That doesn't mean they reject those who wish to embrace stoicism (especially among warriors), but rather the people tend to encourage openness and expression. After all, the Rhorhoan people are the only ones who boast Gazatari.
Many say you will find no fiercer enemy than a Rhorhoan and this isn't just because they have the highest population of Rakag, but because Rhoan tend to channel this same emotional intensity in battle and can direct it with a legendary fierceness called the Gazat. Compared to the general populace of their people, warriors of Rhorhoan heritage are often reserved and observant, choosing to harbor their fiery hearts in peacetime and tap into the wellspring of passion and fury only in combat.
The Primal Pantheon was born in Rhorhoa, and thus it holds great sway over the religious tendencies of these people.
Homeland: Rhorhoa is a small island thriving with wildlife and nature untamed. Rhoan live in an easy harmony in a land full of ravenous predators and wild beyond tamer shores. Many of their people also thrive on the northern end of the Songuk lands, beyond the Frostwild where nations fear to tread. Rhorhoa is ruled by tribal council, but this area north of Frostwild is not claimed by them, often called the exiled coast.
Any Rhoan who find egregious fault in the politics of Rhorhoa are free to self-exile to this area without dishonor.
Demi Appearance: Rhorhoan often have auburn or red hair and their skin can range from fair to bronzed, but even the lightest pigments have little problem with the sun. Many have Rakag or Quessir in their heritage and thus odd eye colors or skin tones aren't terribly uncommon.
Primary Religion: Graza-Rhoan is their matron deity, while many also venerate Kaluk-Ral, the Lord Beneath. Graza-Rhoan embodies all it is to be Rhorhoan and to pursue that which begins out of one's reach. Kaluk-Ral reminds us that one day we must die and all the might we gain in lives will serve as compost for the strongest force on Hayethe: Nature.
The Haran Ga, Hunt Eternal, is said to be a grand and lush valley between the high-realms of gods in which cowards, villains, and fallen tyrants are chased by the Rhoan and killed for their meat endlessly, unable to find peace in paradise. The Rhoan also hunt spiritual beasts both grand and miniscule, the greatest of which are lifted into the other planes to hunt down true threats to freedom, passion, and the ascension of mortalkind. This process is meant to be a penance of sorts, continuing until a deity sees fit to re-enter one of the hunted into the cycle. The Hunters eventually find their way back into the Cycle or ascend to another plane as an honored protector or to find task against a quarry only found outside the Material.Common Races: Demi (humans), Demira (Kuru), Rakag (Orc), Quessir and Half-Quessir(Elves), Wavekin (Half-Merfolk) Background Skills:

Language
Rhoan is a language often likened to natural sounds and is very similar to Ulu is this regard. However, despite their similarities, most find the Rhoan language strangely beautiful and even seductive or hypnotic. They believe this has to do with the origin of their language. While the Gazat was a gift given by Planars vying for the Rhoan Gazat as allies, the Rhorhoan people were given language initially as a gift from the fae. Written: Written Rhoan is uncommon and rather closely matches Gansang, even using the same characters for most of its alphabet. This doesn't translate many ideas well and Rhoan is often very poorly conveyed in writing.Dialects Blue- Most commonly spoken by seafarers and those who have spent much time on the oceans and seas. Any seafaring troubador worth his salt will at least know shanties in Blue Rhoan. Gray- The dialect oft-learned by outsiders from books and studies rather than exposure. It has evolved over time to take on a bit of life of it's own outside the homaland of Rhorhoa. Red - The origin dialect primarily spoken by Native Rhoan or Rali people. Many older or "archaic" words are still in use in Red Rhoan and it's cadence oftne inspires a touch more respect (or suspicion) from Rhorhoan people.
Rhorhoan Abilities and Lore
Strength From Within
In pre-Desolation, the Rhorhoan were not as much a tribe as they were a single lineage in a lush and vibrant land which fed the power of primall and untamed nature into the blood of its inhabitants. When Graza-Rhoan was born, seen as the leader of her people (these days called a queen) and their greatest protector. Many wished to claim the treasures of their sacred land, but the Rhoan always foguht them off. Eventually some outsiders began to offer gifts in attempts to coerce the Rhoan to invite them in. Angelic entities, fae, and even devils sought to treat with them as taking them by force proved too difficult. These gifts eventually merged within the Graza-Rhoan as the Gazat. Despite these gifts, the Rhoan never yielded to outsiders. Over time, the Graza-Rhoan's lineage expanded, and a ritual was born which allowed her to gift the Gazat to others. These Gazatari were the fiercest combatants known to the Pre-Desolate. While Graza-Rhoan eventually left the sacred land for reasons lost to time, the end of the Desolate Age saw her ascention to godhood. With this, the Gazat was spread among all Rhorhoan people.
Gazat:
This power unique to Rhorhoan blood is often incorrectly seen as mere Rage, but it is a wellspring of primal power attached to the Rhorhoan's emotional state, erupting when called on or when needed most. This power originated in a multitude of gifts that reside in the blood meant to act as coercion for access to the sacred lands, but also the gifts of the sacred lands themselves have always empowered the Rhorhoan. This collection of abilities, their individual details no longer known, has become the Gazat.Gazatari:
Honored Rhorhaon warriors who do not simply have the Gazat as all their people, but practice and train it, honing it like an additional muscle over their lifetimes and wielding it like a weapon in battle. Their training is often started early, especially among those who seem otherwise nable to keep control of their emotions when needed. This path is very difficult and many under it fail. While failures are not cast out, they often find themselves leaving for the Exiled Shore.Culture Ability:
The Rhorhoan have the Gazat in their blood, passed down from previous generations and said to be gifted to their people by the sacrifice of the first champion of Graza-Rhoan at the end of the Desolate Age. The Gazat can be called on once per week by the Rhoan for a number or rounds equal to 1/2 their HD (min1) or until a Rage or Bloodrage class feature (or its Unchained variant) ends. When called, the Rhorhoan gains 2 Temp HP per HD and DR 1/-. Once while this ability is active, they can -as an immediate action- choose to take half damage from a single damage source.
